Title: Los Angeles
Post by: kasspurple on September 04, 2016, 09:51:36 PM
Hello all,
I am currently residing in the LA area and I was wondering if anyone knows of any specifically transgender oriented businesses in LA?  I've tried a search online and when I find one it seems like they've usually gone out of business or moved away.  I'm open to learning about all kinds of places that might be a safe place to go.

Not to be ungrateful, but I am not looking for a place that is simply transgender "friendly".  For instance, I know Starbucks is trans-friendly, but I'm not out in public yet and would only go to Starbucks in drab.  I was thinking more along the lines of the place I used to go for a pedicure.  It wasn't a trans-centric business, but she had her own private room in a beauty salon and so I could go there (in drab) and get my toes done in  as close to complete anonymity as possible.  Unfortunately, she moved to a new location and there is literally no privacy at all.

A trans-centric business would also be welcome information, but most of those I've found have gone under.  I guess what I am looking for is trans-friendly but also very anonymous.

You should feel totally comfortable anywhere in West Hollywood.  It's a very LGBT friendly neighborhood - we pretty much own the town.  :)

There are pretty good drag shows at Hamburger Mary's and Mickey's, both on Santa Monica Blvd.  You could hit either one dressed as yourself and feel totally safe.

Honestly, any place you go in WeHo will be fine.
