Title: Will it ever dry up...
Post by: November Fox on September 06, 2016, 11:52:30 AM
Hey guys,

So I know this is one of these questions that really depends on the person and the effect T has on them... but you know... I´m going to ask anyway. Just in case anyone had a similar experience.

From previous posts when I was pre-T you might remember that I am extremely dysphoric of body fluids... especially in "that" area downstairs. I have some OCD to add to it (for which I will get treatment) making it worse.

When I started taking T in the first week it dried up... I felt awesome... whoo!!. However after shark week kicked in it came back in exactly the same way it used to be...

To make things worse I now have a hard time using the hygienic sponges (not kitchen sponges, but sterilized sponges specially for that use) which I used to kind of plug things up. The area seem to have shrunk which is great but less means of dealing with the fluid dysphoria.

I really hope that that thing is going to dry up at some point.

We are all different November Fox, I still have sharkweek and use tampons which work for me, don't see or feel anything only when changing.  I don't all what you can expect with t, but most guy  have thing dry up down there and shrink some too.

I also can't stand the feeling.  I'm 7 weeks on T and things are more (not completely) dry down there now than compared to pre T.

I figure it was mostly due to shark week. Once that's over the amount of it should be back to non shark week levels?

I figure the anatomy can ever be 100% completely dry but if it's even half what it usually is for me I'll be chuffed.

I guess that if it dried up completely there would start to be other issues. Like awful itching or something like that.
Maybe it´ll be better after shark week goes away, I hope so. The last shark week was 1 day so that´s really cool, but it seemed to compensate the lack of blood by expelling the other kind of fluid.

I wish there were some kind of meditation slash hypnosis videos out there for dysphoria haha  :) Trick my own brain into believing something else.

I was on another forum and they said vaginal lubrication actually increases for the first few  years for some guys. Apparently it is linked to testosterone. The walls of the vagina will atrophy though.

Everyone is different, for sure but my experience has been that I'm dry in my day to day (no longer have that random daily discharge) but if I'm turned on, I have no problem, uh, self lubing ;) I've been on T a number of years though and am a bit older, so those factors may be in play.

Wow, Chris, nice photo. I've found about the same thing is true although sometimes I get turned on during the day and some discharge happens. It's clear, like lube, not yellow snot like the old stuff so I'm not getting triggered by seeing it.

Not sure what a bit older means, I´m nearing my thirties, but I sure hope that getting older will help  ;D

I get triggered by the clear stuff too actually, so I try not to get turned on at all. Pretty much living the asexual lifestyle.

I swear I meant to answer this!

For me, I am definitely drier than I was pre-T. Especially once my period stopped. I've also found in a sexual context that it takes a lot longer for me to get wet. There was also a really noticeable difference for me after my hysto. It's not painful or anything, and as far as my experience goes, it hasn't caused any other issues.

(PS: I'm curious about these hygienic sponges? I don't think I've ever seen or heard of them. Are they like tampons? If you're not too dysphoric about reaching around down there, I have a friend who is on the small side and they swear by those menstrual cups. They're washable/reusable so it may actually be a good option to consider while you're waiting on shark week to end and to have around just in case.)

NovemberFox- Oh sorry you're triggered by the clear stuff too. For me, I'm dry--not to the point of discomfort or anything, just generally, er, not wet--on the day to day. Its totally just during turn-on times for me so maybe you'll avoid it altogether if you're staying away from that sort of thing.

Referencing my 'bit older' comment: I'm 46

Coming up on two months on T and it's dry as a bone down there. I'm not even sure that's normal to be THAT dry.

That said, if I get excited about anything, it's more than adequate. It's very odd. Like it's all gone into hibernation mode except when required... and if it is it's suddenly working overtime. Post-wash/next day dry as a bone again.

I just find it weird it seems to somehow be an improvement on its "natural" functions. I expected it all to go kaput.
