Hi guys. I've been on HRT a little over 3 months now and have noticed along with some weird skin rashes from the spiro, I also seem to be getting some moles on my back and stomach. They either weren't there when I started or they have grown to be noticeable. I found out that estrogen causes moles and a much higher instances of skin cancer in natal women on HRT and I was wondering if anyone else here had experienced moles growing after starting estrogen? I don't wanna go down the paranoia rabbit hole, but with what seems like 7 to 10 odd new or growing moles, I'm kind of looking for some answers, ....if not peace of mind. Any of you girls knpw what I am talking about or had anything like that happen to you after getting on the mones? Thanks you guys. Lisa
I didn't have any skin reactions from HRT, but if you have new moles or a rash that you are concerned about you should probably have it looked at by your primary care doc or a dermatologist. And if you are getting weird skin rashes you might be having an allergic reaction to the medicine, so it would probably be good to be on the safe side and stop taking it until you can be examined; and the sooner the better, don't wait have this looked at as soon as possible.
Thanks K.....I actually thought I'd get some more input here. Apparently, this issue isn't something others have dealt with. As far as the rashes go, they're pretty minor and always come and go. There not something that hangs around. I think I'll take pictures of the moles and keep a close eye on them. If they change, I'll definitely get in and have them looked at if not removed outright.
Estrogen increases skin pigmentation, especially if exposed to sun and can cause an increase in freckles and moles. Dry skin can lead to rashes. Both Spiro and estrogen dry the skin, progesterone and testosterone do the opposite. Check with doctor.
Thanks Kay...that is reassuring information and puts my mind at ease. I appreciate your taking time to answer. Lisa
