Title: How Long Did it Take for Your Labia Majora Swelling to Go Down?
Post by: IWentWithChet on September 08, 2016, 10:23:42 PM
I'm a month and a half post-op and, uhh, my labia majora still is kinda... Elephant-ear-y? Like, not to be too graphic I guess, but the labia majora sticks to my legs if I'm naked because they're still so puffy and large. I can't see anything in-between them yet, really. They come together completely. Can't see the labia minora at all.

Should this be something I ought to be worried about?

It took about two years for me, but I had a LOT of swelling; even the nurses were surprised. A good deal of it went away within the first 2-3 months, at least. I don't think I could find my labia minora for at least that long. I definitely wouldn't worry yet, since many surgeons recommend more like 4 months before you can get even a sense of the final results.

(I went to Brassard, though, who tends to make much smaller/tidier inner labia than Chet. You might be able to get a look much sooner.)

I am at 8 weeks this Thursday and still have pretty significant swelling of the entire vulva. I'm hopeful it will go down because the deep stitches at the top of the clitoral area hurt badly when any pressure is applied (Pants, jeans, etc) to the point where I can't even tolerate shaving.
