I am going to my first support group meeting tomorrow at noon and am planning to wear some jeans and a black t-shirt. I was considering some makeup too. So, does this look ok? Mainly I just want to be sure I don't look ridiculous or clownish LOL. Semi respectable is the goal. I have no idea what anyone else will be wearing but I have been told that people in all stages of transition are there and there is really no standard.

You look great! No thoughts about balloon animals come to mind (you don't look clownish). You did very well. :)
You look like a perfectly respectable 50 yr old woman to me. No good reason to hold yourself back at all.
Deborah, that's a really nice 'everyday' look for you! Stick with it. (I plan of getting help for my 'daytime' look later this month with a 1 hour session. Yeah, I need help!)
Hello Deborah,
I agree with the others, you look great. Good luck at your group meeting. I have visited a couple of different groups this year and gained a lot from them. My favorite is in a college town not too far from my home. It is a very diverse group, both age wise as well as cutting across the full rainbow spectrum. I have always felt comfortable and at home. The groups that I go to tend to dress down a bit, I am usually over dressed but have been fully accepted and often complimented. I have usually found what I got out of it was proportional to what I put in. Go for it and enjoy.

Don't be shy. I'd go all in. Pluck the eyebrows, use more makeup, and show up strong and proud! I know this can be hard, but If I were going to such a meeting, I'm in my best dress and makeup. :) Why limit yourself in such an inclusive environment .. put it all out there and be who you want to be! It's so liberating to be in public who you are.
Thank to everyone for the nice comments. I did go today looking more or less like the pic above. It was a very good experience and I'll be going back.
You look great, attractive

You look great. It's a good everyday look, not over the top. Was the meeting in your area or up here?

The meeting was in Montgomery. That's actually a little closer to me than Atlanta and it is a group run by my new therapist. It's also a whole lot less stressful as far as traffic. My town, and everything surrounding, is completely defunct of anything related to L, G, B, or T.
i do not think you looked "clownish"
when i was a youngster my first attempts i think where horrid. though i think i got decent at it i feel so many years of being out of practice, well....
even clowns can be cute
