Sorry, but can I get some opinions pls? Tried my hair a different way plus got some new glasses...

Both have newer image on the right hand side of the pair. I'm hoping I pass better with this hair/specs combo(!).
The glasses definitely help you pass better. As far as the hairstyles go, I think you'd pass with the previous styles too with the new glasses.
You have a pretty good hairline already. The square specs help a lot. They kind of tip you over the edge to passing for me.
I definitely like the new glasses more. I think them plus the new hairstyle help show off your squared facial features. Your face looks "stronger" and more masculine for sure!
The glasses definitely make a difference; you look a lot more male and masculine.
I'm MtF, so I hope you don't mind, but yeah, the glasses really help. Steel or gray frames, square, plain with no little bits of decoration present a much more 'hard', masculine appearance. The second pair of photos, right side looks totally male to me. (I'm moving from gray steel plain frames to cateyes with rhinestones. :) MtF... )
I do think the new glasses helped. Your face looks much more square, though visually you would've passed for me before and after.
You guys (and girl) have just made my day ;D I am so chuffed that the changes have had the effect I wanted. Really appreciate the feedback.
*swaggers across the room grinning like an idiot*
Yeah! new glasses for the win.
Lookin' good!

Picture | Masculinity Level (1=least, 4=most masculine)( |
Picture1 (previous hair, old glasses): | maculinity level 2 (almost ties with Picture2 but glasses pull both Picture2 and Picture4 into top spots.) |
Picture2 (previous hair, new glasses): | masculinity level 4 (most masculine). |
Picture3 (new hair, old glasses): | masculinity level 1 ("least" masculine but that's splitting hairs because you're still passing). |
Picture4 (new hair, new glasses): | masculinity level 3 (next most masculine). |
Possibly some helpful context: I got up really early this morning, barely had a cup of a coffee, so was not paying attention to the topic context of FTM. Also didn't take note of "ftm" in your user name. Your post doesn't mention "pass as male" just "pass" ... so I clicked on the images expecting to see how well a new hairdo and glasses affected an MTF (I'm MTF so my robotic morning thinking was reading from an MTF perspective). The images opened up and I was like thinking "Bloke!... this guy is not passing to me." ;D Well, I reread your post and look carefully at the topic of FTM and woke up... you are passing generally and the glasses do help...
That experience mine validates my more calculated nonspontaneous consideration henceforth... that you are looking very much like a guy in all the pictures, and the old hairstyle looks more masculine to me only in the way men can be clean cut... where cleaner cut might, if splitting hairs, be considered more feminine generally speaking. For example, a cleaner cut man may look more "boyish" than one with messier hair, grungier looking.
That's sort of what I see, your older style is grungier so it plays in a more masculine direction, but the glasses sort of swing it back for the cleaner cut style.
However, if you want to go out on a nice date, where your style and the other person's style is one which might demand of you a more shored up "cleaner cut" look—people differ so this may not be you or, say, a date... I speak generally here—then I don't think you want grungier as a masculinizing factor at the sake of not fitting your date... cleaner cut might be more desired in that case. I say date, but same goes for, say, a business meeting... your newer look is more business appropriate... but really the older pictures would be fine if you worked in, say, tech.
In this sense, I see your new glasses has helping tame that cleaner cut look. But I've seen blokes who look just like Picture3 (least masculine... in my day, we might have said "preppy") so you're doing really well even there.
Congrats on the new look(s)!
The new glasses look great and definitely help on the passing front, in my opinion. I think the first hairstyle where your hair is curlier suits you best, though (the way you have it in gelled in the first pic with the new glasses).
I have to say, I just reread my earlier post and it's way too confusing. I was trying to provide detail which would accentuate how masculine you look but I think what I'm saying gets lost in the overload of details... forgive I get verbose sometimes, working on that...
The short version is this: When I woke up this morning and came online, saw your post, was unaware the topic was mtf which led to a misunderstanding in my private thinking which actually ended up being quite a compliment to both your new and old looks. You pass in all of the photos, very well I might add! The original photos have a hair style that is more stereotypical "machismo" in my opinion so they tend to take you further on the male side (as it would a genetic male so there's no difference there... another positive for you). Essentially you look like a guy in all the photos and the variation in hair/glasses swing things around as they would for a genetic male. My chart above is saying new glasses and old hair style looks most masculine but new look and new glasses passes too.
Sorry for my verbosity but I hope my clarification makes up for my blah blah in the prior post. Note, my detail in that post may now make more sense... there was a rhyme to my reason but I just didn't present it well. :icon_blahblah: Please forgive and congrats again!
