I'm 16 I am not very big in width yet and I want it to stay that way until I reach 18 or so. How do I stop the masculinization. My parents don't want to be a part in this and they said a lot of time that they won't approve me. So I need to wait move out and then start transition. But in the meanwhile how do I stop masculinization. I could get spiro and whatever I need.

Welcome to Susan's Place. You would need to see a doctor but there are testosterone blockers that are given teenage children to delay puberty. Should you decide to remain male, they can be discontinues and puberty would resume. At your age, bones are not an issue though you would have to make sure your diet contains sufficient calcium and vitamin D. The big problem will be getting your parents to let you see a gender therapist who will refer you for treatment. Good luck and if there is anything I can help you with, let me know.

Is spiro a testosterone blocker?

It is but it's not the only one. Depending on where you live Spiro may not be the drug of choice. Spiro is a blood pressure medication so it lower blood pressure and you need a high level of water and salt while you are on it. It may be desirable to use other drugs without those side effects but it will be up to your doctor to decide the best drug for your treatment.

I'm really new to this forum what is the best drug so I can bring it up to my doc. Thanks Dena

TOS 8 permits you to discuss drugs but as far as recommending one, there are far to many factors. Your physical health, your blood test results, the availability of drugs where you live and possibly insurance coverage. Normally what happens is your therapist recommends you to an Endo. The Endo will run blood test and make sure the drug will be safe for you and check your T levels. If all is good you will receive a small prescription and near the end of it, your T levels will be check again. If a dosage adjustment is required, changes will be made other wise you will receive another prescription. The idea is to give as little drug as possible to do the job. It's also possible the doctor will decide on a long term injectable drug where you will receive injections from the doctor as needed. It eliminates pill taking but it is more expensive.

Unfortunately there is no one best drug. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages so the doctor will need to decide on the correct drug for you.
