Title: peecock is all tacky, is it ruined?
Post by: Preston on September 16, 2016, 09:19:54 PM
Hey guys. I have a peecock but didn't use it all summer. I just got it out and it's all tacky, almost sticky. Is this normal? If so, how can I fix it?

Unfortunately that sounds like the material is breaking down. It can happen if it was stored near something volatile that attacks the material or if it was wrapped in something that was breaking down and emitting gasses. If that's the case you may not be salvageable but you might try contacting the manufacture because it's possible they had a bad run of chemistry when it was made.

We have a problem like that with our dilators. Some of the girls like to use oil as a lubricant instead of a product like KY jelly. The oil will attack the material in the dilator. If you want to use oil, you need to protect it with a condom to prevent the oil from attacking the material.

Hi Preston,I hope it hasn't started breaking down like Dena said, have you tried powdering it with cornstarch as this can make a big difference?

I haven't, I didn't know that was an option. I will definitely try it now though!! Have you ever done that?

I regularly use corn starch on all my packers. It helps keep them less linty. What I would do is wash yours with regular soap and water, then lightly coat with corn starch and see if that doesn't help.
