Testosterone builds muscles and is present to some degree in women. The far higher levels in men tend to give them a natural advantage over women. Women need to work out far more in order than men to gain strength. If you continue to work your muscles while you are on HRT, your loss of strength will be reduced but if you don't use the muscles, you will lose strength and muscle mass. Estrogen will not produce strength but Progesterone can convert to testosterone.

Thats interesting having been on male hrt for many years now , my system will be totally shut re testosterone in fact normally medical intervention via peptides or meds are needed to kick start the bodys own production. ..it can happen without them but it takes a very long time if ever so I may have inadvertently done myself  a favor , or not something the doc/ endo will have to work out anyway from the womem ive seen they look healthy but it perplexs me as when my doc thought I prostate cancer he warned me.that all test would be withdrawn and I would become like an old man ...there is more to learn which will be revealed as I go forward

In cancer treatment, the idea is to block all T, whereas with HRT for trans people, the aim is simply to lower it in to the female range. That said, I have lost some strength. I also had reduced energy levels to start with, but that soon sorted itself out.

Studies have shown even a relatively strong oral dose of progesterone doesn't increase testosterone levels and progesterone has not been shown to be androgenic. I take a high dose and my testosterone levels are extremely low, the lowest they've ever been!
