Title: I'm back
Post by: MsMarlo on September 26, 2016, 05:31:26 PM
Hey there gang: I have finally made it back.  Surgery was mostly a success but I still have limited lateral movement in my right arm.  The new problem is a herniated disc that was always there but was aggravated by shoulder physical therapy and is now compressing the sciatic nerve.  Really, really sucks.

On the education front, I am most likely going to drop the LMFT program and instead pursue my PhD.  I'll be making the final decision in the next week or two.  Lots of stuff going on, I have a court date set for next month for my name change and I have gotten the green light letter for changing my gender marker on my IDs; now if I can only make it through a selective nerve block this week and an SI joint injection next week on my back.

After six years I'm finally back to church and am playing the guitar; I love that place and our people.  If you can find an MCC church in your area, by all means visit; I'll bet that you'll go back  :-)

I would like to add that my K9 partner Otter died earlier this summer; on my birthday in fact.  I love him very much, and I miss him greatly.  Yet my department refuses to acknowledge his death even though it was injuries that he received in the line of duty  that he ultimately succumbed to.  My department has tried to fire me or get me to quit to no avail.  Poor, poor ignorant folks.

Anyway, y'all be safe and look out for each other because if we don't, no one else will.  Often times we are all that we have.

Don't forget to watch the debate tonight!

Love, hugs, and kisses

Good to see you again MsMarlo

Hopefully your arm will improve and you will gain full use again, I had to have my left shoulder worked on a few years ago and I get some arthritis in it but it's allot better than it was

Very sorry to hear about Otter's passing, I know how it feels like losing a dear family member

Hugs

Thank you Rachel Lynn and VM so much for your thoughts; I really can feel them.  I always carry his police credentials with me, so I know in his own way he is still protecting me and is always with me.  Its weird though; although he and our little Schnauzer were best pals, hi mortal enemy our pit has taken it the worst. He has really been depressed since Otters passing and it breaks my heart when I see him laying down in his spot just looking out the sliding window to the back yard.  Our alpha female Dachshund misses him more than she lets on.

Our vet did us up with an awesome shadowbox, and I'll post a pic of it soon.

The shot went well yesterday and I didn't feel too much until the medicine went into the nerve to block it; he saved the best for last but after about maybe a second of intense pain, we were all done.  Now we play the waiting game.

Be safe :-)
