I was trying to get my thoughts out as far as explaining what is going on with me right now, with bits of history of mine that were definitely signs.. It seems pretty good, but I worry about entire herds of teal deer roaming about. Has anyone had any experience with letters?

I have used mainly letters to come out to the world. I have one last task and that is to come out on social media. I don't see this as a huge issue at the moment but I will do that in a letter as well. I did take quite some time to get it right. But I just kept rewriting it until I was happy.

I have not used the written form to come out. But I think some people will read it, Remember though some will not. Those who will want to actively support you will want to understand all they can. There may be some who may disagree with your reasons and "throw them back at you."
Good luck, I would like to know what you decide to do and how it goes. Please keep us updated.
Dear Nuuni,
I came out to about two hundred people, some by letter. I found it most effective to show my emotions, tell the choice that I felt I had in life. (being socially acceptable and miserable or taking a giant risk to be myself) People responded to hearing that choice and the pain I faced. The problem is that if you do this, you are being pretty vulnerable and at risk of someone hurting you with that info. You need to measure the risk reward. I would think it smarter to limit specifics. Many don't want all the details and it lessens your risk.
