Question:
What is your birth order?
Option 1: Only child
Option 2: 1st born of small family
Option 3: 1st born of large family
Option 4: 2nd born of small family
Option 5: 2nd born of large family
Option 6: 3rd born
Option 7: 4th born
Option 8: More than 4th born
So I am reading a biology book where birth order is a considerable idea throughout the theme. And it got me thinking, whether there is any link between the order in the sibling pack and transgender issues broadly. The question is gender neutral.
First born of small family ( 2 younger brothers, 7 and 9 years younger than me)
Middle of three. Two brothers and me, AMAB.
4th of 5. We were the little Irish family that couldn't.
Hugs, Devlyn
Oldest of three, I had two younger brothers. I once read the oldest child was the most likely to be trans but have never seen anything else to corroborate that.
Middle kid with a sister 5 years older than myself and a brother 3 years younger and another brother stillborn 3 years after that. The time between my birth and my sisters leads me to believe there was a miscarriage in between and was the reason for DES to be prescribed while I was in utero. WWW.desaction.org

I'm not sure the "Birth Order" really plays a part.. What might, however, play a part is that the environment the mother lives in at the time of each pregnancy plays a part.. What chemicals is she exposed to? How is her diet? Stress levels? These are all things that I'd see as having an effect rather than simple birth order.
the oldest a brother and gay
nest a sister, psychopath
me late blooming trans
next sister PHD in Psychology
Only Child...
Only child but I had a twin who died in utero. FTM not MTF. Didn't see the area I was posting in.

Im the middle 2 other brothers and i am the smallest.
Oldest of 5, all assigned male at birth. One showed signs of DES exposure as I did, and was treated surgically about age 1.
Youngest of five. Boy, girl, boy, girl, b...girl.
Monica
Oldest of three. Three girls!
I was Jason born of a two child family, the last to appear.
How does this apply to the Wachouskies?
An only child.
3rd of 3 children, all assigned males at birth...I was supposed to be the girl (if my parents plans had worked out) that meant 3 children under 3 for my 19 year old mother who went on to try again for a cis girl with my but ending up with my youngest brother 7 years later. My Parents never treated me any differently, the whole "you were supposed to be a girl" was more of a taunt from my brothers than the reality of the situation. I think my mother once said that yes she had planned to have a girl but was happy enough to get 4 essentially healthy children...

One sibling, a brother who's two years older. I was reading an article which said it's possible that the testosterone left over from creating a male baby could then create an ftm child next time. But seeing as how we're two years apart I'm guessing that's unlikely what happened and instead my mum simply had naturally high T levels.

I was always under the assumption that the womb insulates the foetus from the mother's bloodstream preventing diseases from messing with it's development, with the nutrients going through the umbilical cord. I didn't think hormones would be able to go through to mess with it.
4 of 5 all sisters.

I am an only child.
However, I do have step siblings. 2 sisters and a brother. Brother and one sister is older than me, the other sister is a year younger than me. The younger sister and I are really close.
My step siblings have no idea I was born a boy.. My mother only remarried after I was full time and had been on HRT for a few years all ready.
Oldest of six, three sisters and then my two brothers. My mom had a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with me so the possibility of being a DES baby is real. She passed away from breast cancer years ago so no opportunity to ask her and verify she took the drug. She was a wonderful woman and I know she would have taken every precaution so that it would not occur again. Does not change anything for me, I am transgender and am living my life with that knowledge, and I have no problem accepting that. Peace, Love, and Hugs
I'm the oldest of three. I have a younger sister and brother. Hugs

A few years back I stumbled across "The Birth Order Book" http://www.drleman.com/store/the-birth-order-book.html (http://www.drleman.com/store/the-birth-order-book.html) while my wife was looking elsewhere in the local library. I popped it open to me and I was sold on the first sentence. Reading further there are plenty of generalities and the devil is always in the details. Details that also offered insights to other aspects of my behavior.
And speaking of details..... I think better insight into the spread can be had had by having "Last Born" rather then a number. I was shocked over the disparity with third borns (me) and wondered how many are really "The Baby of the Family", also me.
Within my support group, of the regular members I know well, there is no trend. First, middle, and last. Offhand, I tend to think more first and middle
1st born of small family
I'm the oldest of three. My sister is a few years younger than me while my brother is about 14 years younger.
Two older half-brothers (same mother) and two younger sisters.
