Title: 2+ years on T, can you still get pregnant?
Post by: caliyr on October 07, 2016, 11:03:41 AM
Period completely stopped over a year ago, is there still any risk getting pregnant? What would be the way to find out? I'm guessing a regular pee-on pregnancy test wouldnt work (due to T)?

Any advice is appreciated.

Yep; T isn't a contraceptive. It will make you less fertile but there's always a chance of getting pregnant. I wouldn't think a stick method would work either; I'd talk to your doctor about other methods.

Yes, you can still get pregnant. Your doctor would probably have to do a blood test to confirm.

the only way to 100% avoid pregnancy even as a trans man on HRT requires either a hysto or a partial reproductive removal like an oompherectomy (ovary removal). I once saw online that a trans man who was on t for 6 years had unprotected sex with his cis boyfriend on a daily basis and got pregnant without planning on it
