"A trans teen took his own life after hospital staff continually referred to him as a girl while on suicide watch.
Kyler Prescott was only 14 when he killed himself due to anxiety and depression in March last year."

Gotta be tough to live on this planet. Not everyone makes it. Heartbreaking though, that people can be such obtuse douche bags. Godspeed to him.
His is a lesson we need to internalize, if for no other reason than so we can find our own dignity and self respect. No one will give that to us. We must take it and own it. Our futures depend on our ability to be self assured in the face of others ignorance and bigotry.

That's the most useless suicide watch I've ever heard of. Isn't the whole point of it to prevent him from committing suicide? Shouldn't they be watching him to make sure he doesn't do it? Ugh, the incompetence reaches the skies, they deserve to be sued into oblivion.

So sad, tragic and preventable. With all that's going on in the media and education about trans people available we still have so far to go to keep this from happening again. =(

That's infuriating! Hospital staff ought to be trained in dealing with transgender people and the use of proper gender pronouns, particularly in a situation like that.

I have a young granddaughter who has some gender issues, and if I ever heard anyone mistreating her, I'd go ballistic!   >:(
