Title: The king I love has passed away
Post by: warlockmaker on October 13, 2016, 09:52:29 AM
His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the king of Thailand passed away today at 3:52pm.  I mourn greatly with the Thai people , the world may never  know a king that loved his people so much. For 70 years he ruled with love. The outpouring of love by Thais come  from across all religions and political parties is so heartfelt.  I feel very sad ...he is so special and he will be greatly missed.

I've never been a fan of monarchy, but King Bhumibol was a remarkable force for stability and order in Thailand's stormy climate of factional strife and military uprisings.  Time after time, the authority of the king moderated threatening political events and gradually forced ambitious generals and would-be dictators back to the path of constitutional order and respect for the laws and the rights of the Thai peoples.

The king ruled for 70 years.  There are only a few of his people who can even remember a time without him.  Yes, he will be greatly missed, and I can only hope that some principled and humane figure can step forward to play a similar role in Thailand's future.

My thoughts go to the Thai people during this time of mourning for King Bhumibol. He was a great Monarch and much loved by our brothers and sisters in Thailand.
