When one has vaginoplasty how much input can one have on how the end result will look and be formed? Obviously this is limited by the individual's biology but still...

I don't know the answer, but you could also consider looking for a surgeon that does what you prefer as standard. They might be more likely to do it properly if they have a lot of practice. If you don't like labia for example, then Brassard seems to be the right guy as he doesn't do them.

It depends on the surgeon, and to some degree on the details of your particular body (as to whether it's possible).
I agree with AnonyMs that it's a better idea to find a surgeon who does what you want routinely. I disagree strongly, however, that Brassard "doesn't do [labia]"; I went to Brassard and have perfectly nice labia, and so does everyone whose results I have observed, including in person. He prefers to create small and tidy inner labia, which is a fine example of picking a surgeon who produces results that you like - I, personally, do not like the large inner labia and the look of the outer labia that are typical from Suporn, and so I would not have chosen him. Personal preference is an excellent reason to differentiate between surgeons.
I just want to make sure I have something I am comfortable with.
As for individual surgeons, I am nowhere near thinking about this.
Different surgeons will use different techniques. In general, these days there seem to be many excellent ones to choose from. As for individual aesthetics, I think that would be between you and your doctor and what he or she thinks is possible given the physical details.

Answering your question up front, you should have 100% input what you want.
Since you are still early, you have plenty of time to read about different surgeries, learn human anatomy and physiology, understand comparative sexual anatomy. This does not mean you must enroll in med school or be a doctor yourself; this is merely one step of being personally informed.
There is no single cookie-cutter GCS / SRS surgery out there. Surgeons have their own techniques that provide various results.
It is not too soon to learn who are surgeons you want to consider, understand their procedure and how each differs, and correspond with them. Tell them what you want; show pictures or drawings what you want. The best surgeons will work with you as well as they can according to their methods.

I think most surgeons are happy to tailor their work to your desires, within reason. If anything, the limiting factors will generally have to do with material reality -- such as, whether what you want can be accomplished given the tissue available, the actual layout of your blood supply, and so forth.

Now short answer is yes. You will be asked for your input on Cosmtic, Sensate and Depth functionalities and what you consider are your priorities and expectations. As you are at an early stage of transition, you are able to consider very carefully what your criteria are. The capability of each surgeon must be evaluated against your own expectations. This will apply where-ever you choose to have surgery. Initially you should seek this information out from the Surgeon, secondly from Testimonials. Always double/triple check everything you hear on the internet, there really is some horribly twisted information on there...

I guess you've come to the right place! Go around and ask, but keep in mind: posting post-op pictures is forbidden here.
Perhaps a better way to go about this would be to find out which surgeons have good reputations. These will be the most experienced (usually), thus having a higher chance of making something nice out of whatever is available. You won't know for sure until about a year after surgery anyways.
