Firstly I'd like to thank Devlyn for her thread, as I also live in Massachusetts it was a great source of help in order to start the process so thank you very much!
I submitted my completed form for change on name to the court on October 12th they told me they were all caught up on everything and I'd heard back in 2-3 weeks, I submitted a waive of publication form as well. Earlier today (October 24th) only 12 days after filing I received my certificate officially showing my chosen name, I smiled all the way back from the mailbox to my apartment. Got my ears pierced, my first outfit and my name if officially mine today's been a great day ^_^
Congratulations. I'm sure that is a great feeling.

Thank you very much! It certainly is, though it's only the first step of many legal documents to be changed and maybe it's silly to feel this way but seeing but it just helps validate and make it that much more real to see legal documents starting to show what they should have long ago ^_^

Thanks again! I'm unable to private message yet so hopefully you end up seeing this but my doctor sent the 3 letters I need to change the name/gender marker on my Birth Certificute, SSA card and state I.D but if you went through the process in changes those 3 I have a quick question if it's not too much trouble. I've found a guide that shows info needed to have name/gender marker changed for a variety of MA items and under SSA it lists a few things needed, I have the printed and completed changes form, will have the doctors letter in a few days but that one that's stumping me is this one the guide shows
"Proof of identity. One or more identity documents in your new legal name, such as, a driver license, passport, state-issued ID, etc. These documents must show your current legal name."
I only have the certificate of name change from the court, I need the updated SSA card in order to change my I.D so would that court order name change suffice in proving my "new" identity? Or possibly a amended birth certificate with the new name/gender marker? If you don't know it's okay I figured it was worth asking, thanks!
