Title: Brassards prices and the Canadian dollar?
Post by: gothique11 on November 03, 2007, 02:24:50 PM
I'm just curios for the Americans, are Brassard's prices in Canadian (I heard they were once, but I don't know if that's actually true or not).

The $1.07 Canadian dollar (vs American dollar) is going up to $1.10 soon and is expected to either be on par or over to the American dollar for a while.

For example, a $1.05 Loonie at US exchange rate would equal $500 US for every $10,000 US. It's not a whole lot, but at the same time, that's an extra $500 bucks.

How do Americans (and even other countries) feel about this. Do you consider other options in North America (Bowers, Meltzer) or maybe over seas somewhere? I'm not sure what everyone's prices are compared to Brassard, and maybe even after the exchange Brassard is a good deal.

I wonder, also, if you have budgeted your money only to find you're going to be paying a few hundred dollars more for surgery, and how does this affect your planned dates, etc.

It think he used to charge 17K $CAN to canadians, and 17K $CAN to americans. In fact charging more to americans. But, now that's still the case, its the canadians who would be charged more. Not sure if its true, if he changed his prices.

Seems like the loonie is getting closer to parity with the greenbuck

1.00 USD = 0.983347 CAD

United States Dollars             Canada Dollars
1 USD = 0.983347 CAD         1 CAD = 1.01693 USD

It was fun while it lasted, kids, but the looney has already lost 8 cents against the Bushie buck.  Am I ever glad that I'm not the central bank of anywhere, holding Bushie bucks.

At 1.10 its overvalued anyway, the real value of the dollar should be around 0.98-1.02 US dollars.

I haven't heard back from him, so I don't know how that's going to work now.
