So I was wondering, when auditioning for roles in films, say where there is no big physical exertion... Well, I have SRS + BA in one surgery on August 2017... and I'm auditioning for a role that might end up filming some time near then. I don't really know. But just wondering, as long as there is no extraordinary physical exertion besides walking and talking in the role... how long after SRS + BA do you think I could get back on my feet well enough for filming without any visible oddities like having trouble walking or sitting normally due to possible pain?
Would I need 3 months? 2 months? Perhaps even just 1 month?
It's a real long shot if I get accepted, but just in case on the off chance that I do have a shot, I want to know what to tell them regarding my availability because that too could affect my chances of getting accepted... and it's a feature film role as one of the main characters, I've never had a chance at that kind of role.
I had srs, ba and ffs at one go. The ffs takes the longest to fully recover but you are not doing that. The srs needs rest or you will tear the stitches and that will be painful. Plus, you will have to sit on a dounut shaped cushion cos it really hurts to sit without it. Most girls that I know who work find that 1 month is the minimum time for very basic recovery. This varies for each person. If you can find time I suggest 2 months. The ba will be ok after 10 days.
It's very dependent on the person. Most people can move pretty freely after about a month but may have some soreness. Normally recovery is 6 weeks to two months though some people may have issues far longer. I returned to work with a desk job at 2.5 weeks so it can be done but it was a big mistake. I was carrying my donut with me and regular had to shift between sitting on it and without it to get comfortable.
5-6 weeks minimum is what my surgeon said and it was true.
How about running? Can I start training again after 2 months? Or might have to wait 3? Could it even take 4?
My recommendation would be 3 months before running but walking is fine as soon as the doctor lets you out of bed. As always, check with your doctor as you may be permitted to run sooner.
