Title: Clitoris too large
Post by: Melody_Prisca on November 06, 2016, 05:48:57 AM
I recently had SRS with Dr. Maurice Garcia. Two werks ago actually. Im happy with everything, except my clitoris. It seems way too big. It protrudes out constantly, and it seems to have a larger radius than I would expect. I specifically asked him about the size of the clitoris prior to surgery, and he said not to worry, he makes a nice one. Well I'm not so sure he really does. Could it be just the swelling? Is there a chance it will shrink? At the very least I don't want it protruding. Is there any hope I'm not gonna look a bit messed up down there?

I will admit, I'm happy that I can go swimming, and can wear my clothes without having to worry. But this has really got me worried. I'd hate to lose potential boyfriends over this. And more importantly, I want to be comfortable with my body. I want to feel like a woman, not some experiment gone wrong.

Have you asked his policy on revisions?

I haven't yet, perhaps I should. Everything I've tried to voice a concern, he just tells me everything looks great. And he told me specifically he thinks he did a good job with my clit. So I'm a little hesitant to ask him. I don't want to tell him I'm unhappy with his work, but maybe I will have to.

Regardless of whether finally you have a problem or not it would still be nice to know that he's prepared to fix it if you do.

That's a good point. I guess maybe I should.

AFAIK revisions shouldn't happen until at least 6 months anyway, so it wouldn't hurt you to wait another month and see if it's swelling.

Actually that's normal, so don't worry too much.  At 2 weeks there is still a lot of swelling that makes the area bumpy.  For me it flattened out slowly over 5-6 weeks and it's still changing.  I think it won't have its final shape until about 12 weeks?

I hope your right. If it does flatten out, honestly I wouldn't care about the radius as much. Right now after dilating it's sticking out about 3/8 of an inch. Which seems a lot to me. But then again, my urethra is also sticking out, so I guess it could just be the swelling, for I assume the urethra shouldn't stick out at all really. I guess I just have to wait and see. It's hard though, I worry to much sometimes.

I think that would be rather attractive.

2 weeks is very, very early. I couldn't even FIND my clit until about 2 months in. :) So it absolutely could be swelling; in fact, it could be less swelling of the clit itself than all the structures underneath it. If the clit is very small but is sitting on a protruding spot, it will look much larger than it really is. The fact that the urethra also sticks out does strongly suggest that it's all swelling, and that should subside in time. Brassard says it's four months before you get a general idea of the final result and a full year before you *know* the final result, so once again, this is super early to be worried about "fine details."

Mac1: I'd have a problem with it; in fact, it'd probably trigger my dysphoria all over again. (A large enough clit can look like... well, what it used to be.)  I think she's perfectly entitled to be unhappy if it ends up that way permanently.

Melody_Prisca,

Welcome to the site.

I don't have an opinion on the esthetics of it yet. I also don't have the experience to speak about the surgery. However, it does sound wise to ask the surgeon about their policy on revisions. It does seem early to pass too much judgement.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment to:

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

With warmth,

Joanna

I'm with Jenna Marie on this. Mine is still swollen and I'm not even 2 weeks post up yet myself. Secondly, depending on how your body is position it can cause the body to protrude even look bigger than it is. Hugs

I guess I need to be more patient. It is just so hard right now. It certainly does remind me of what used to be there. But I'll try and just accept it for now. Hopefully it's just the swelling. It sounds like it's a good chance that is what it is. And if it turns out to big in a few months, then I'll think about revisions. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. It'd be so awesome for it to just flatten out, and for me to just be comfortable. I'd love that.

Thank you all for the support.
