Hi all, I recently bought Lynoral and was curious about the correct dose I should take and how long it would take for me to see some results.
Also, I'd appreciate any help regarding a better hormone for developing a more feminine body. Thanks very much.
edit to remove doseage
Welcome to Susan's!
I can understand the desire to start using hormones and consequences be damned. I've felt that way too, in the past, but I have to tell you that the consequences can be life threatening if you dose yourself without medical supervision (blood tests, etc) and advice (therapy).
Susan's will be is a very good resource for you to learn the correct way (read, the safest way) to achieve what you're going towards and the members here will help you along. But you won't get any help in self-medicating with potentially life ending drugs. Read the site rules, check out the links and the Wiki, they're very beneficial (they have been for me) and let us know more about yourself. You'll find alot of support for what you're experiencing and maybe will hear some other people's experiences that are similar to yours. Above all, take care of yourself properly.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from you soon,
helen
I have to agree with Helen here,
We take the subject of self medication very serious here it is a dangerous practice that we discourage. There is information in the Wiki that will help you understand the situation.
That a side welcome to Susan's feel free to join in our conversations. As Helen has said it is worthwhile taking a minute or so to read the site rules.

I will just echo what has already been stated and add that what you are doing is fool hardy and dangerous. I have no idea why you want to develop a more feminine body as you don't state the reasons. However regardless of reasons you need to seek competent medical advice on these medications, their effects, side effects and contraindications, etc... Remember these drugs were developed to treat the female body. Just because others have used them safely and achieved results doesn't mean that you will experience the same.

Self-medicating = "Big mistake"
There are therapists out there who, after a few preliminary sessions probing your convictions, will put you on HRT as a diagnostic tool to separate the girls from the boys as it were. Basically, if you're not cut out to be feminized, you'll know it yourself within three to six months of starting the diagnostic HRT. But if you get 'hooked' on them, then that pretty much clinches the diagnosis of GID/TS. And the whole time, the doctors are watching over you, reading your lab reports, questioning you about adverse effects, and adjusting the dosage to optimum (with feminizing hormones/drugs, often too much can be much worse than not enough.)
There is one thing to worry about, though. The make-or-break event is usually when the estrogen and testosterone blockers shut down your pee-pee. That's right. Erections become difficult to attain/maintain, and orgasm becomes rare or non-existent. If you were meant to be female, this will be of no concern or maybe even a relief from an obsessive need. If you weren't cut out for womanhood, you'll want your functioning back NOW!!
Anyway, it'll pay to shop around for a therapist, or at least an MD who will take the time to study up on feminizing regimines, keep tabs on your health, and write you a 'scrip.
Don't do this solo!

With all due respect, maybe I forgot to mention can't afford medical advice of such medical advice to be put in my record for life? All I want is a straight anwer on the questions I had, if I can't obtain them here, then that's fine, maybe I came to the wrong place, but I'm sure I'll get them somewhere.
Thanks though, and I don't really have the time to read the "rules." I really need to find out about my questions real soon. I appreciate your time in replying though, thanks so much.
Regards,
TJ
P.S. Forgot to mention, most doctors I've been to, when it comes to other sicknesses I've had (bronchitis, etc) they can never find the answer right away, so I have developed a mistrust in doctors here in New York. I think they're nothing but a financial insitution waiting to take your money away. Medical advice or treatment is very very expensive here in the USA, and doctors really disgust me.
I think TJ, that this is the wrong place then. In order to discourage self-medication, we don't discuss dosages here. That's the rule that people are referring to.
Just one thing though, if you are self-medicating and you have to go to a doctor for any other reason, don't you think they'd notice that you're taking female hormones? And then it would get on your medical record anyway.
Best of luck,
Dennis
