Title: Clothes fitting different?
Post by: Nora Kayte on November 24, 2016, 11:57:40 AM
I think I am just over 3 months into HRT. I am on full transition doses. I am in my late 40's if that matters any. I have not gained or lost any weight. I almost always where shorts. Sometimes pants. I still dress as a male. And my clothes on the bottom half are really tight now. The shorts I used to be able to squeeze into won't even button anymore. The shorts I called my fat shorts are super tight. That used to fit loose. My wife always said I had no butt. But now she says I am getting one. I did not think I would go up in sizes. All my female shorts don't fit at all. I guess having no butt before alowed me to fit in smaller items that I can now that I'm getting a butt.

I was just wondering if anybody that has not had any weight fluctuations has noticed the same thing?? I know my body is changing, and I am assuming it's normal.

Yup.  Size 4 was snug, 6 was a little loose, 8 was baggy (Buffalo skinny jeans).  Men's DKNY jeans (32" waist fit OK). Then I started HRT...

After 5 1/2 months of HRT, size 4 is right out, 6 fits like a glove.  The DKNY jeans didn't fit below the waist any more.  They went to Goodwill when I couldn't pull them on.  :icon_redface:

I've managed to hold weight within a few pounds of 136 the whole time.

Yup. And I have also noticed my favorite pair of capris are fitting better. I have to pull them up where they belong. Instead of down where I where the guy shorts.

I have been on HRT a little longer about a week longer but I noticed my butt was getting snug in my 501's. When I started I was at 222 lbs. I checked yesterday and I'm 232. Not a good trend. I want to get at least to 180. Anything less and I look like walking death.

Yep, this is normal. I seem to get a lot of comments about my but due to that fact. Fact is though some clothing that should fit me doesn't due to my thighs and or butt. The changes due result in us going up sizes sometimes and most definitely if we try to fit into male clothes they due because they are not designed for the thighs and butts we gain. Hugs

It's amazing how much fat distribution has to do with the way clothing fits.

Pre-T, I was sitting around 155-165. I have zero concept of what size I would've been in women's clothing, but I had a rough time finding men's jeans (thanks, useless hourglass body). I ended up having to wear 36/32's *just* due to my hips. The larger size, which was wholly unnecessary for the rest of my frame, ended up making me look a lot bigger than I was (in a not great way).
I've been on T for 13 months and I currently weigh the most I've ever weighed in my life at 195. 34's are now comfortably loose on me around the hips. 32's are doable, but I don't prefer my pants to fit that tightly.
Also, my butt has definitely decreased. I was in the shower the other night when my fiancée busted in and told me I now have what she affectionately referred to as a 'man ***'.

Honestly, I was shocked at first. I saw the scale steadily increasing and was subconsciously preparing for the worst case scenario. I've only had to increase my shirt size due to my shoulders/arms/chest width. Granted, I've been busting my *** at the gym in an effort to offset my hips, but still.
Shape is (thankfully) so much less determined by our skeletons than we think.

I can finally fill out a bra. Yay!
My hips and butt? Sadly. Not so much.

I've spent enough money already on womens jeans that fit me fine right now, I'd hate to have to give them away after I start HRT (hopefully January). They are stretchy with some room in the seat area so maybe I'll be able to keep wearing them.
Never need an excuse to go shopping but can't afford to keep doing it.

You can have most of mine! Genetically I'm afraid that I'm predisposed to growing sideways.  I'll just need to keep up on the biking, maybe that will help.

Wow this is exactly me. Except 222 is where I landed. But 180 does not sound like you would be to thin. But I guess that depends on your Hight. I was going to try for about 175. Not sure I can do it though. I would need more exercise and probably no or very low carb diet. I just wish the redistribution would go faster. Lol. But I know we can do it. Just depends how bad we want it. Hugs
