Title: Checklist for starting HRT
Post by: AshleyP on November 24, 2016, 06:07:05 PM
Woohoo! I went to the clinic three days ago and finally got my prescription to start HRT! Frankly, because of my health history, I never thought I'd be approved for the treatment. I'm excited and apprehensive, maybe a little scared.

I asked for and got a three month script. I've found that most meds are a little cheaper than buying once a month. Because of the quantity, it took the pharmacy a day to fill the order. I've been taking a low dosage of spironolactone for over five years for a heart condition. So I took my first estradiol pills yesterday. Even though the instructions say take the full dosage once per day, I took the first pill sublingually just because I wanted to see how long it took to dissolve. Funny, within about an hour my testicles began tingling enough that it was almost a slight ache. I don't know if it was psychological or if the boys were just saying they noticed what was going on. Anyone else have that experience?

Anyway, I was trying to think of what I should do for comparisons later. I've measured the muscles on my arms, legs and chest. I measured my neck and my height. I'm glad I did that because I found that I'm not as tall as I used to be. I also logged my blood pressure, heart rate and weight. I even made a ticker (see below). I'll take photos as soon as I get some batteries for the camera.

I'm trying to think of what else I might want to compare after a period of time. I think I've thought of everything but thought I'd ask y'all. Is there anything else that comes to mind? Oh, and I wanted to let y'all know the news, too.

All the best,
--AshleyP

Some people experience increased size of their areola.

I too thought I could not go on HRT because I have a deformed aortic valve, CHF, atherosclerosis, enlarged ventricle. I also learned that the heart disease could be linked to what may have been predestined because at the time I was born, Doctors were prescribing for pregnant women with history's of miscarriage,DES a synthetic female hormone was administered in strength 3000 to 5000 times more than birth control pills. Small studies have shown a link between DES and being transgender. Unfortunately full studies have not been done and will have to take place overseas because if it is proved it destroys the religious aspect of being trans by choice. The genital anomalies, the late descending testis although there are no medical records to be found confirming that my Mother had been prescribed we do know she had at least one miscarriage and there was five years between my sisters birth and mine. I didn't get vibrating balls but I did get very horny even though I suffer from ED. I found other ways to pleasure myself. My boobs started getting tender and the nips would feel like they were on fire. My face is starting to show signs of changing. Not necessarily in a good way. Wrinkles. My butt is starting to reject the confines of my 501s.  So there you have it. We are sisters of commonality. It amazes me how similar we are, it can't just be a personal choice. Add to it the cost factor for a full transition being astronomical and who in their right mind would want to go through all that on a whim? Well exactly. You and I and a couple million others would do in a moment if possible.

Measure your waist and hips also.

Like Deborah said but include your arms (biceps) legs upper and lower, neck, chest below breast, waist and calves...just once and then compare it in 12 months...I have taken about 1 selfie a day since 29th September 2015 which will form like a morphing photo once I add then together in a filmstrip. It is very easy to do you just have to make sure you take a photo a day at the same distance and pose...I just take my upper body shot...full body shots became too hard...I have run about 3 months together and that looks cool...it is worth the hassle Have fun and enjoy

Measure your feelings on a weekly basis, on a scale of 1 to 10 for:
