"Christine Garcia was one of the first officers to come out as transgender and helped to plan the event as she arranged and helped with the security during a commemorative march.
The march ended with an event at the LGBT community centre, where she was turned away because her uniform could have upset some people in attendance. "

Sadly, this is the second incident in a week involving Trans folk being denied participation in events...for whatever reason.  This was a hot topic around our house for more than a little bit this weekend and such a shame.  It is my sincere hope that the director of the center can investigate and stop the internal silliness that is leading to these sorts of issues.
