Title: Central Texas Therapists?
Post by: Lacrimosa on November 29, 2016, 03:10:05 PM
Hi, everyone! I was wondering if anyone knew of any therapists in central TX that could write a letter for me to start T? Preferably in the Georgetown or Cedar Park/Leander area? I did find one in Burnet which isn't too far, but they are listed as a counselor so I don't know if they are able to write a recommendation letter. What degrees would they need to be able to do that?

Welcome to Susan's Place. I didn't find much with a search but there are some that are possible in this link (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwip4qPv_87QAhUH0WMKHcAWCl4QFggdMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftherapists.psychologytoday.com%2Frms%2Fprof_results.php%3Fcity%3DGeorgetown%26state%3DTX%26spec%3D187&usg=AFQjCNHRBTNfLh4VFjOBGSzsEsKGhNmNVg). Make sure they specialize in transgender treatment.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

She is not too far away in Austin. I assume someone that can understand more deeply than a run of the mill therapist.

Good Luck

Thank you both for your replies!

@Dawn I was actually considering going to see her, but the problem is I don't drive so it's a little too far for me to ask someone to bring me.

I did find someone, though! I finally told myself to take the first step and I emailed the original counselor I posted about and she is qualified to write letters, so I will be going to see her. The timing is perfect, too, because she just opened a new practice closer to where I live. So glad my anxiety made me wait to email her lol
