Title: Help removing estradiol patch residue
Post by: Brooke on December 10, 2016, 01:05:15 PM
Hi ladies,
I'm trying to figure out an easy way to remove the adhesive residue left on the skin from the estradiol transdermal patches.

So far I've tried soap and water, alcohol, and scrubbing with an exfoliating sponge.
I typically end up with the residue staying on my skin for a week or more, rather than having a big raw patch on my tummy.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

I've had pretty good results using a little baby oil or eye makeup remover.  I then clean up the area with rubbing alcohol on a tissue, so there's no oil to get under the next patch when it goes on a different but nearby location.

The patches I am using use a mix of silicone and acrylic adhesives (and a dash of estradiol), some pretty tough stuff.

That seems far too easy a fix. Thanks!
