Title: What should I know about HRT?
Post by: cakeflurry on December 14, 2016, 06:14:15 AM
Hi,
I'm new here and to this community. I'm a cis and I plan to take hrt soon(I know it sounds ridiculous :P). I want to be more cute and feminine looking and 'passable' as a girl. Heard the effect are going to go off once u put away the hormones. Guess I'll have to not stop taking it. Also, anything important or even additional information I should know about this? About HRT, I've researched quite a lot already but I'm not confident to say I know all of it.

Thank you for listening to me.

Hi cakeflurry and welcome to Susan's. HRT isn't something to mess around with and highly recommend you speak to a doctor experienced in dealing with HRT. HRT can make changes but most will be undone in short order if your not on it very long. It can affect things that you don't want to change and permanently damage them too. So please be careful. Hugs

Hello Cakeflurry

I want to double down welcoming you but also on what Mariah says about HRT.

Please educate yourself and listen to your doctors.

I want you to be around to enjoy your true life for a long time.

Did someone mention cake?

Welcome to Susan's Place, Cakeflurry! A lot of the effects of HRT are irreversible and will stay even if you stop taking them. You can brush up on the subject here: https://www.susans.org/wiki/Category:Hormone_replacement_therapy
See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Welcome to Susan's Place. I question if you are CIS because it wouldn't be a normal male desire to look cute. Also taking cross sex hormones tends to make a CIS persons somewhat dysphoric so if you are CIS, you should find out pretty quick. HRT can make it more difficult to remain in the masculine role, but it is possible to do so. I am providing a couple of links on this subject that you might want to look at.
