So in the meantime I've found it pretty fun to 'test out' or play with my female voice on drive through's. For some reason I find their audio always makes things a fair bit deeper, which is a huge boost to the self esteem when you're told 'Drive up to the window, Hon/Dear,Miss.' (Right now I'm batting 80-90%*) Sometimes I've even been asked 'Where did she go?' when I'm in my work(boy) clothes. I guess this is good setting the bar pretty high?
It's also pretty funny. Cruelly funny. But I'm sick like that.
Anyone else tried this? Go on, admit it. XP
LOL, when I remember to, I do...I kick myself a little when the person says, "thank you sir, that'll be..."

Yeah Y.Y One step at a time though, right?
I wonder - can you misgender them back if they do it? Like if they call you sir but you are a woman, can you just say something back and use a wrong pronound deliberately? I would like to do that if it happened.

I've honestly never considered it. =/
I used to do that alot back when I was teaching myself to sound like I did before my voice got deep as a teenager. I would go through the phone book and call different restaurants and businesses and ask about whatever just to find out if the person I was talking to could tell I was a girl. At first it really helped to introduce myself with a common girl name like Ann or Sue. Six months or so of practice and people could always tell I'm was a girl as soon as I said hello!
My new voicemail greeting. I dont even recognize myself on it! A good sign since Im still waiting for my voice therapy appointment. 3 month waitlist Y.Y
I'd do this but the nearest drive thru is probably a half hour away. But now you've got me thinking about the Colonel's balls. I mean, "popcorn chicken"(?)
