Title: Braun Silk 9 Sonic Attachment Experiences?
Post by: Vervain on December 18, 2016, 01:43:01 PM
Heya! So, some might remember I spoke of my fiancee coming out as a trans woman. This resulted in the only other AMAB member of our polyfamily realizing that she herself had been repressing her actual gender identity (she's identified as genderfluid for years, though), and came out as a trans woman with intention of going the full mile, except for certain expensive non-insurance covered surgeries. I gave her a link to Susan's, so she might pop up here. :)

The reason I mention this -- because of my EXTREME PCOS (as in, my diagnosing endo said she could count on fingers the number of people who had it this severely), I've considered purchasing an epilator for awhile, because my facial hair, which causes terrible dysphoria, grows back within twelve hours once I've shaved. However, I balked at the price, but since M's grows back even faster than mine, and -- sometimes, even if she shaved before going out, the five 'o clock shadow is still visible.

After reading lots of reviews, I think the Braun Silk 9 epilator is the best option. In addition to a whole bunch of other attachments, it includes a sonic exfoliating attachment. I did a search and couldn't find anything posted about it, but I'm hoping some of the lovely ladies here :) have experience with this device.

If anybody has experience and/or opinions on the sonic attachment, how well it works, pain, anything you can think of, really, I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance! Also, love and cookies (of choice; you pick your fave, plus they're virtual, so no calories!). ^_^

I have a silk epil 9, I love it. I tweezed for a few years before I bought the epilator, I assume that helps with the pain portion. The first hair you ever pluck feels like you're pulling your eyeball out through your nose! After awhile it's nothing. I  don't know about the sonic exfoliating attachment, but I don't see how that would cause a lot of discomfort. Keep us posted!

Hugs, Devlyn

I bought treated myself to the epi9 at xmas and while on the xmas holiday's I did my pins everyday and were smooth as silk and felt amazing.

I am now having issues that I have returned to work with some bad rashing and a few ingrowing and my legs feel badly stubbled, I think its my non cotton work pants that are causing my current issues and that I probably need to give it a break for a week which fills me full of dread, I have started to enjoy my legs being hair free and it really does help me feel a bit feminine.

I have some leggings on the way to wear underneath my work pants and hope this will help.

Armpits really hurt but as I only need to shave them twice a week I intend on sticking to that, hair round the pubic area, very painful the first time and seems to be getting easier but the epi9 seems to be struggling with them very thick strong hairs.

I really need to go back, read the instructions and come up with a routine.
