What kind of bag do you carry?
Nope. I travel light. Keys, wallet, chapstick. All in my pockets.
I'm not one for bags unless needed. Everything is usually in one of my pockets or my inside coat pockets.
If I absolutely have to use a bag I got either a messenger/laptop bag or a biking rucksack.
It really depends what I'm doing and how long I'm going to be out and about. For the most part I just carry the basics - wallet, chapstick, keys, and phone, all in my pockets. If I'm going to be out for several hours or I'm going on a day trip where I'll want more stuff, I'll bring a small backpack or messenger bag. Small and light enough to not get in the way, but big enough to hold a drink, some snacks, and a tablet.
Pockets or a backpack.

The only times I ever carry any sort of bag are when I'm going to the gym (an Adidas drawstring) or going camping/hiking (a military surplus rucksack).
Otherwise, I just stuff my pockets. I refuse to own a cell phone so my EDC includes a pocket knife, my keys, my wallet, a fire starter and a multi tool.
General rule, if it don't fit in a pocket, I don't need it that badly.
I wear a rucksack pretty much everywhere I go. I have large hips and as such still have to by women's trousers, which have such small pockets or no pockets!! Which is ridiculously frustrating, so I can't fit all the things I want in the, plus I find at times having everything in my pockets accentuates them.
I'm also a massive clean/smell freak, so always like to have deodorant/cologne/hand sanitiser on me.
Plus wearing a rucksack makes me feel like a ninja turtle, which is badass!

The nice thing about men's clothes is you can fit everything in trouser and jacket pockets.

That is reason enough. I used to live with everything I own in a backpack.
I love backpacks. Something that is tardis-like and light. I have one backpack that has a structured back then mesh so there's airflow between your back and the bag. Good for summer but fits a lot less stuff.
I usually try to bring a snack and water bottle, but typically bring a small first aid kit, hand sanitizer, mini compact towel, flashlight of some sort, reusable grocery bag, and a pocket knife/multi tool.

I usually carry a small backpack with wallet, phone, keys, water bottle and sometimes laptop/tablet/overear headphones, and a notebook or two. Possibly a snack.
If I'm going light, just keys, wallet, phone in my pockets and I'm off.
A bag in the hands has always felt in the way, I want my hands free. I don't think I've ever owned a bag I had to physically carry.
pockets around town, backpack in the country.
a small neck pouch for keys, ID, cash when in Girl mode
I remember I hated purses with a freaking passion. My mom would force me into having one but I would vehemently refuse. I did end up with some girly bags that I compromised with, mainly messenger/satchel bags. One of them was kind of girly but I liked it, after someone called it a purse it killed it for me, though. The other bag was one with okami (wolf) japanese kanji and a wolf on it, which I loved (my mom hated that I wore it, though, for some odd reason)
These days I carry things in my pockets, it helps now that Im wearing guy pants more often its a miracle how much roomier pants pockets are when girl pants are huggin the hips for sex appeal and having absolutely no pants pocket space whatsoever
I mean...fake pockets. Worst idea ever.
I have always hated bags. Last time I carried a purse was pre transition for jury duty. I was trying to present female and felt so aweful, and uncomfortable about it that I couldn't tell you if the guy was guilty or innocent. I just went along with the other jurors. I feel ->-bleeped-<-ty about that to this day.

Pockets or backpack for me. My friend carries a purse, he's a very very fem guy- also wears makeup and dresses.
I try to wear cargo shorts in summer or jackets in winter since just pants pockets doesn't work well with my massive thighs and slightly-wider-than-a-cis hips. Pants pockets on the front don't fit a lot for me bc of my legs/hips and the butt pockets are uncomfortable when I sit. So- cargo shorts/pants or a jacket with good pockets. My favorite jacket has two outer pockets and two inner pockets- I never run out of room in that jacket.
Backpack is common when I need my sketchbook- I'm an artist so that's a lot of the time.
I never owned a purse in my life. But I pretty much always carry a backpack with me to work or grocery shopping/anywhere I think I'll need to pick something up or carry something. Otherwise everything goes in my pocket. Funny enough, like others that usually includes keys, wallet, lip balm and a cellphone, plus often a little mini pack of kleenex or something since I often work outdoors in the winter. When I carry a backpack I often will throw my wallet back there, a book to read on break/on subway, work gloves, and sometimes an extra hat (in winter, alternate between toque and baseball hat), thermal shirt or extra jacket/shirt.
I still carry a purse, although I'm looking to swap it out for something more neutral like a messenger bag. I carry my wallet, phone, tissues, hand sanitizer, lotion, and myriad other things in there. I don't mind feminine accessories myself, but I don't like that they're more likely to make others read me as strictly female.
I carry shoulder bags. One of my favourite one is the game boy bag I bought from london ::) I did carry a wallet but I switched it out for an owl purse bc it's bigger and carries more change lol. Mostly I put it in my coat pockets tho, thank god for male pockets!!
I need a backpack to carry my water bottle, my kindle, pencil and sketchbok, documents and all this sort of things. If I don't have to go further, just put things in my pockets.
Back pack for school, messenger bag for work, and pockets when out and about.
Depending on how much stuff I gotta carry/will end up carrying it's either a messenger bag or a backbag. It also depends on my method on transport, too. A messenger bag will become straining on my shoulder on long walks so I prefer to use a backbag in those cases.
I have a briefcase for work and a small shoulder bag. I lived in Japan for a long time do I used to having a compact umbrella, tissues, a bottle of water, etc. All my essentials like keys and wallet are in my pants. Haven't gotten any weird looks, even in the US.
Nope
I carry my wallet and my keys sometimes i don't even bring that.
Depends on what you count as bag - I usually carry a briefcase or satchel with me for uni, but aside from that... well, not really. Don't need one.
Never had a purse, but I'm a messenger bag kind of guy.
Never owned a purse. O I lied. My granny and mom gave me purses until they understood I don't fancy them. I have a backpack to stuff that don't fit in my pockets.

I have a messenger bag for when I go out intending to buy something that won't fit in my pockets (comics, actions figures etc) but I've finally found cargo pants that fit comfortablly so I've been throwing everything into them. I have Finn's jacket from Star Wars that has inside pockets and people are always amazed at just how much I end up pulling out of them.
Really depends on where I'm going. I'd say for most outings I'll just stick my phone, keys, and wallet in my pockets. Going to work, school, the library, etc. I almost always bring some sort of backpack or over the shoulder bag. At my workplace, we all bring canvas bags - that's probably the closest thing I've used to a traditional purse.
When I was in college I would use messenger like bags.. but now if it doesn't fit in my pockets.. I don't really need it. If I do need it and I'm going somewhere with my wife, I stick it in her bag. I never have been a bag carrying kind of person .

Never had a purse, but I'm a messenger bag kind of guy.
This is sort of what I meant. I also have a messenger bag.
As everyone else has said, guys clothes have way more space for items so that should work. I think backpacks and messenger bags are really cute for some reason, so I enjoy those even though I cannot present as male yet. Looking like a guy, carrying a bag, and NOT feeling like it's making my boobs stick out is one of the little things I look forward to for some odd reason.
I adoooore pockets. I will fit everything into pockets if I can. But books and stuff, go in a backpack. I remember in secondary school when I had this sorta handbag thing and people said I walked around like T-rex with it... Yeah I like to feel sorta free, so that means no skinny jeans, boots at all times and handfree pocket and backpack storage thank you very much. Hate having stuff in my hands.
not me. i don't like carrying things as it is, so i just make sure all my pants have enough pocket space for anything i might need. even while living as a girl and carrying a purse because women's clothes just don't have functional pockets for some reason, i always found it really inconvenient to have to hold or keep track of an object all day long and fish through it whenever i needed something.
I don't, only because I don't carry much with me anymore so it would just feel pointless to me.
When I was younger I had one of those small bags that looked like mini bookbags and gave that up. Being a student I had a book bag all the time and would probably use that if I had to carry a bunch of stuff but normally I just have my wallet, keys and cell on me. Those small thin athletic bags with the strings that close up the top and the strings themselves become straps work in a pinch.
I have this army green backpack thing that's really complicated in its structure? It's like a backpack, and a drawstring bag, and a purse all at once. I think it looks pretty gender neutral though, which is good because I carry it EVERYWHERE. I actually don't have that much in it but it's a nice way to keep all of my stuff in one place.
As far as keeping money, though, I have a super pink super big Cardcaptor Sakura handpurse thing, and it's super embarrassing to pull out when I have to pay for something, no matter how much I love the show. ::)
I carry a messenger type computer bag around most of the time. I am an academic and need it to carry various papers and other odds and ends for work. It is fairly neutral, most of my colleagues do the same. It is not really much of a gender statement.
I have to admit really liking the Vera Bradley bags and purses. My wife hates them variously describing them as "old lady bags" perhaps that is why I like them, I'm 60 this year. Also, she identifies them as "prep" material which she does not generally like, although I've spent most of my >30 year married life with her in polo shirts, button down oxford and khakis with a navy blazer in male mode and she likes me. My adult daughter likes Vera Bradley bags, so I enjoy them vicariously through her.
I'd love to carry one of those cute quilted bags around at work! Not likely to happen...
Steph
I do, since in Argentina it's hot half the year and I cannot carry everything in my pockets. I don't think I can post pictures to show you yet, but I use a Military french medical bag, or a gray satchel.
I carry a Star Wars backpack on the daily. It's one of those ones that looks like a fashionable purse marketed towards women, but aaaay.
I would like to carry a small purse but my wife considers that to be sexist.
I do, but only when my purse matches my outfit.
Seriously, shorts have pockets for small items. Skirts mostly do not and that is when I carry a purse.
I'm just starting out and have recently bought a man's wallet, which I LOVE, so mostly that with chapstick, keys, and phone in pockets. I usually carry a very small backpack from Eddie Bauer if I need to be out for a while. It's about a foot long and a foot wide. Smartphones make it so much easier to not have to carry so many things anymore.

I carry a hiking backpack for work, primarily for things when I'm goofing off (comic books, ipad, copious amounts of snacks). I try not to carry a bag when I can avoid it, so just keys, wallet and phone in my pockets when I'm with friends. When I was younger, I would use a messenger bag so that I could still carry my things in something other than a purse. This was before I had the confidence to just start buying clothes in the men's department.
