Just curious as to others opinions on how much a place like Susan's has helped you feel better about yourself. I know I owe a big debt to this place as far as my transition and my mental well being because of the other members and the friendship of the other members.
The members here are all such wonderful supportive people. Without this resource both for emotional support and just information I know I would be lost.
It has helped me greatly except on the few occasions where the moderators were on my case. But I got better. LOL

It helps me rein in my crazy or enhance it... LOL
There is no helping my mental health :icon_blah: that went out the window a long time ago.
The people here are whom helped loosen my mind enough to go looking through it. Everyone has been great, and very informative.
Definitely helps keep me sane. I love the sounding board. As much as I appreciate having an amazing social support group I also don't really have any trans friends in real life. Haven't been too active in my local trans community partly due to my existing social support but also due to schedule and health.
I love that I can come here when I am able to and have a huge range of of experience, opinions, and feedback. Not to mention I don't feel like the odd man out.
My friends are great, but talking about the details of being trans and the process of transition gets old pretty quick with people who can't really relate

It helps. I can't post everything here, of course, and I don't post quite as much as I used to do (complaints...). Because of this it is definitely not as good as individual or well run group therapy sessions. Still, it can definitely help to get some things out here rather than stewing on them, letting them buzz around in our heads until we can't think straight.

It's helped me quite a bit because some how I fell through the cracks of the social world and lived in silence most of my life where the only person who would talk to me was myself and damn that can get lonely.
I'd say it's actually slightly negative for my mental health, because I've reached a place where I'm otherwise not dwelling on trans topics much. (So it's not about the community - it's just the part where I have to be back in the "trans headspace.") But I owe so much to people who patiently helped and supported me, and I still feel that I ought to pay it forward.
