Title: I got shot today!!!
Post by: JessicaSondelli on January 05, 2017, 04:06:13 PM
Twice... One shot in each ear... [emoji23]

I'm so glad I've finally done this. I wasn't really prepared though to show my ID. Yikes...

Anyway... Just had to tell you that my first surgery was successful.

Love you all
Jessica

EARRINGS?!
I've never been a big advocate of piercing guns, as they tend to cause more tissue trauma and keloid scarring over hollow needle, but that's still mega sweet!

Was it less painful than electrolysis?  I've been getting lit up pretty regularly and they have cleared about a third of my face. So far I have considered root canals because they are less painful. How long does it take before you can wear dangly earrings.

My personal bias would be to get pierced with hollow needle over gun, guns a bit more painful because it forces the blunt post of the earring through the earlobe and they simply attach the backing. The whole process is pretty painless, hollow needle is a thicker hole initially, I would safely say that you could put in the jewelry you want as early as 3 weeks. (Maximum healing time ranging between 9-12 weeks, earliest 3-6.)

Sea salt soaks, tea tree oil, and polysporin are all good choices for aftercare and cleaning. Avoid rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide like black death.

Jessica, wow, congratulations....so simple but such a big step. Be rigorous with the care and feeding of your new earrings and you will be able to start experimenting with new looks in no time. Actually it feels like it takes forever to get to when they tell you that you can try different earrings but from then on....so much fun!

Dawn, I have had lots of electrolysis and also root canals. Not even in the same league. I got one ear done 40 years ago and the other 1 year ago. The process has changed very little. Both were done at mall shops. Choose the studs that you want to wear for the next bucketful of weeks, sit down and before you know it, it's done. Yes it stings a bit but the process is so quick that at least for me, no biggie, I have stubbed my toe a lot worse. Just closely follow the cleaning and care procedures specified by the vendor. And enjoy.

Anne

I had my ears pierced years ago with a sterile needle at a professional piercing place. It was more expensive but safer and cleaner I think.

I had most of my body piercing done at a place owned an operated by a Germaphobe with OCD.
Worth every penny.

Congratulations!

I had mone done with the gun thingy initially.  But after a couple of months, I couldn't get earrings in any more.  The holes hadn't closed, but they weren't tidy.  The gun didn't do a good job.  I went to a proper piercing place and had them cleaned up.  No problems since.

The piercing dude looked scary, and I had to listen to rap music while he worked, but he was a stickler for cleanliness and did a good job.

Once upon a time I was training to be a body piercer myself. :3
May still end up that route, who knows where the future leads?
(In my case, you'd be hearing awful gutteral screaming and shredding guitars though for the most part XP)

Did mine last Friday.  The best decision ever.  I'm still in cloud nine!

How about you?

I first pierced mine when I was 15. I used a sterile needle from home. Tried, and failed hiding that from my parents, not an easy thing to do.

Hey Dee! Good to hear from you.

I got some simple golden stubs and can't wait to get really cute pieces in there. I had one ear pierced about 20 years ago but couldn't get anything through anymore after not wearing earrings for years.

It's something so simple and small but unbelievably awesome! One of those things cis people will never understand.

Hope to see you soon down here.

It wasn't painful at all. I have only done laser so far but it doesn't compare at all to those nasty never-ending stings on my face. Thanks for reminding me... My next laser session is on Thursday. Number 8 it is...

Congrats. Did mine last July right after my 2nd HRT appt.  A celebration, or rite of passage if you will, to mark my entry into the the life of hormonal womanhood.

Went wild on Aliexpress dot com for awhile. So many cute earring. So cheap. So little time.

Now I'm starting to make earrings. What fun.

I had my ears pierced about 25 years ago, when I was into full cross dressing.  It was done with a needle though, not a gun.  I still wear gold studs all the time.

Congrats Jessica. I've had double piercings for quite a few years now. All done with the sewing needle and ice cube method

Hugs,

Congrats. I got mine done yesterday too. I opted for the needle though. Didn't really hurt much. Yeah I've been getting laser too and that is WAY worse. Here we go, trudging the happy road to destiny!

Not the worst at home piercing story I've heard but be careful okay?

OMG!!! How could you do that?

This is nothing, when I was apprenticing as a body piercer, we had a young man come in with CHAINLINK FENCE through both of his ears, his nipples and his nostril with severe infection looking for our help 'undoing' the damage he'd done.. Yes, the original piercing was made by said chainlink fence, the sharp end after he'd cut it up with pliers.. We promptly referred him to and ER, that's a bit outside of our realm of qualifications lol

Sorry in advance for being graphic Y.Y

A sewing needle in general either isn't sharp enough, or due to it being tapered slightly, make for a bad candidate for piercing. A hollow needle is ideal, as it's symmetrical, and depending on the gauge, you can put the stud in, before removing the needle, to avoid rubbing on the newly created hole (avoiding extra discomfort!) Often a syringe will do the job, if you don't have access to proper hollow needles.

I also cant stress this part enough; make sure everything is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! Please don't heat up needles with a lighter, that actually slows the healing process by causing searing and burning, weakens the needle and makes it more susceptible to bending, and increases chance of infection getting foreign particulate (soot) inside the piercing site.

I strongly advocate for supporting our local professional body piercers, and I don't mean claires or shoppers drugmart :3

Congrats on this step, ear piercing seems to be like a right of passage..

I have 3 holes in each ear, all three were pierced with a needle by a professional at a body piercing and tattoo shop. I also had all 4 of my tattoos done at the same place.

All three holes were not done at once.. I had my first one done when I started seriously cross dressing, second hole when I started hrt and the 3rd one was done after SRS.. it kinda marks my journey.

In between that, I also had my navel done and a small stud in my nose.

I have played with the idea of having a vaginal or a tongue piercing done but never gone through with it, I suppose it cant hurt more than my ankle tattoo. lol

My wife and I went to a local professional today and got a very nice set of rings installed. I now have 14ga rings (third and hopefully most successful attempt in 35 years) and she a 16 ga second set of holes. We were there for an hour, not including after-care class, and received the best service I have seen in years.

Go pro or don't go. Just sayin'
