Title: OK, I am Post-Op, But Would Like To Get BA and/or FFS Paid By Insurance
Post by: TransgenderTarheel on January 19, 2017, 12:06:14 PM
OK..so I am post-op male to female, completed surgery in 2002...recently got my birth certificate changed thanks to North Carolina's stupid law (guess where I am lucky enough to live??)

Of course, since I got the surgery in 2002, I paid out of pocket for it, and I ended up going to Bangkok, Thailand...as it was all I could afford, but the outcome was good.

I am talking with my insurance company now, BCBSNC...they say FFS is not covered...but BA is.  At this point I will take anything and everything I can get...I had to pay for my initial surgery out of pocket, so I kinda sorta feel like I am owed here, yaknow?  I would have HAD a lot of the extra stuff done, but for lack on money at the time...so I did get the bottom surgery and I am not all that pleased with my final breast size...I barely fill a B cup.

Anyway...if anyone could offer some insight on FFS possibility...or on BA this would be great.  Probably BA, CPT 19324-19325 are going to be a lot easier...just a guess.

OK, so BCBSNC is suppposed to be setting me up with a case manager...is this familiar to annyone here...this is all new to me.

Supposedly they are supposed to handle all the requirements...seems that the only requirement be that I am currently on hormones which I am...

Mght as well get something out of my insurance, ya know?  Not like I can manage to get my diabetic supplies without a heck of a fight...
