My therapist emailed my letter today! I'm a ball of emotions. My heart is beating so fast and I'm in tears typing this. It seems like it was forever in getting it but it's here now. I can't express how amazing I am feeling right now. ;D
Also she added in about an orchiectomy for me. I told we I was likely going to ask her for a reference for that as well so she already included it in the same letter.
Congratulations, Josie! That is great. I remember being excited about mine.
Do you have an appointment yet for starting HRT? I had to wait three months between getting my letter and getting the appointment. Hopefully it will work faster for you.

Soooo awesome, Josie!!!
Congratulations, yesss!!!
My insurance was gonna cover an orchi since I was a DES daughter, but Brassard said not to, cuz he 'needed that tissue' intact. Sorta bummed me out, cuz it was over another year before I could get to Montréal, but I am glad I did wait, his results were really worth it!
Again, sooo happy for you!!
Missy

Thank you all. Yes incredibly happy! ;D I'm going to call this morning to get in with the endo. Here comes another wait I'm afraid but it is so much closer now.
Have my endocrinologist appointment in a couple of weeks!!!!!!!
I'm so excited to finally feel like I'm moving. ;D
The endo is only accepting trans patients and teaches at the university.

Yay, yay, yay!!
:-)
So glad for you with all this great news!! ;D
Good for you. I'm excited for you. I've turned the corner of 5 months and I just love it. Considering how keyed up I used to be and the freedom I feel now, I am so glad I could not hide any longer. It's a marathon not a sprint so don't put too much into it early on. You should feel almost immediate mental relief however.

Congratulations.
Yays! I know how moving forward with this feels too!
Hugs, Devlyn
Congratulations! What an incredible step on your path.
Thank you all. You are all bringing me to tears again this morning. Luv you all
WOOHOO! Congrats Josie.
Glad to see you are making progress and doing it "the right way" LOL The way I should have.
I am on HRT now but I went against all the rational advice I had read. I discovered I could obtain some Spiro and Estradiol and decided to do so. I then confessed having started then to my PCP at my regular 6 month visit with him. I then requested and schedule a screening appointment with a psychiatrist as a prelude to getting an appointment with a gender therapist. I then requested prescriptions for HRT meds from my PCP and they are now ordered. Everything is moving so fast, too fast I fear. It's been a whole week since confessing to my PCP that I felt I am transgendered
This is NOT how I , nor anyone else, here would recommend it be done. It is just what I did after over 50 years of agonizing over my feelings.
I was surprised that it has been this easy for me because this is through the Veteran's Administration. The drawback is that they will not do any of the cosmetic or surgical procedures.
Joy be unto thee Josie. Enjoy the journey Josie
