Really weird thought/question I had. I know I should be taking a daily vitamin, since I am working on losing weight to boost my nutritional intake. So many are gender targeted. It is hard to find a "generic" one. So as a AFAB currently on T, which is right for me? I don't want to take something that will boot my E levels, but don't know if the male ones will provide the proper mix. ARGH
I just take regular generic cheap ones, but also take calcium. I won't need the extra iron anymore since I'm not dropping my guts out every month.
I take Centrum Men's. I think it has a blue top on the bottle? I also take extra Vitamin C and a biotin supplement.
I forgot to mention, I guess you should take iron if your hematocrit means you have to get some blood removed because the RBC is too high. Or maybe if you're like me and go through phases where you don't eat all that much... you still need the vitamins even if you're not eating.
Oh yea I also take vitamin b8 separately from the main vitamins. It could be the reason my WBC and other immune cell count is so high.
I'm going to look into more targeted vitamins in future but for now I'm doing ok with these.
I just take the generic cheap ones too. I hadn't heard before of certain vitamins boosting your E levels though :/
It's not so much girl or guy multivitamins as what is in the particular ones you are looking at. Once a person gets to be about 5, boy or girl the basic requirements are pretty much the same for the rest of their life. The biggest difference in most gender targeted vitamins is that girl's vitamins have higher iron because of the blood we loose from our periods. Even then it's probably cheaper to get a multi with iron. But it's important to realize a multivitamin is sort of a one size fits all. Each person guy or girl needs different supplements.
