I've heard on the forums that it's important to masturbate and whatnot in the years/months leading up to SRS, to keep the skin in the right condition (elastic and whatnot). How accurate is this? Because I can hardly bring myself to do that anymore. It's just not the same as it was before HRT, now I need an emotional stimulation and those aren't easy to come by...
So, is it going to be detrimental to my SRS results if I don't keep that area active?
I don't believe that...at least my surgeon never said that or recommended it.
I would have been icked out. I hadn't had an orgasm pre op for almost 8 years (I know, TMI)
For me it is more about trying to remember how it feels, so that it is easier for me to regain it all back. And I did after a few months.

The idea is if your surgery is going to be PI, having an erection will help keep the skin stretched out. You don't need to climax, just obtain an erection. How important is it, I don't know.
I was going once a week, and I even used a penis pump from time to time to keep the skin stretched after my libido diet. Ended needing a graft.

Likewise -- just to keep the electrical system from decaying. ;)
But that was pretty much perfunctory, and limited -- it was very dysphoria-inducing to do so.
