Feel free to move this thread if it's in the wrong place. But I just feel that a need to get some things of my chest. Lately I've developed problems with eating and mostly with swallowing.. I can be really hungry, take a first bite and then feel like I can't eat any more. I can fill my mouth with food, but then it feels so dry that I just simply can't swallow it. More than once has this lead to puking. It has now lead to that I've lost weight, my best friend feels like she has to be my mother and it really strains our friendship. If I were home i could have simply gone to the doctor. But we're in Costa Rica for four months and I don't know what to do.... i feel like I'm loosing my health, my best friend and my life..
Well, there's no reason you can't go to a doctor just because you're in Costa Rica, is there? Go see a doctor and make sure you haven't picked up some kind of intestinal bug or something.
You need to see a doctor. The hotel may know of a hospital or a doctor and the embassy can usually supply you with any information you might need. The tropics have a number of things you can pick up that are not common to the cooler climates or you may have developed something else. Start looking for medical help tomorrow.
You must see a doctor immediately. What you describe could indicate something very, very serious needing prompt intervention. Please do not delay seeking help.
