People say it's good to cycle your hormones for 14 or so days out of the months, what about the rest of the month? Our estrogen or progesterone would go way down. What's yalls opinion.
I personally don't think it's necessary and the downsides are you feel lousy (headache, irritability, etc.) when your levels drop. I have yet to hear of significantly better results on cycling. I had better results in terms of breast growth on oral vs injections and yet oral gives steadier levels of estrogen. Many women do quite well on patches and pellets although these deliver hormones in a very steady manner.
The cycling that goes on with ciswomen is unnatural insofar as nature intended women to become pregnant and breastfeed their infants most of their lives, spending only a small fraction of their lives cycling. Increased number of cycles have also been associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.
I agree with KayXo, cycling your hormones is an attempt to mimic natal female hormone blood levels. This is not what we, as trans women need to do. Many of us have been through male puberty and we need to counter the effects of out exposure to testosterone. For myself, that is 50 years of testosterone exposure.
What we need to do is safely and effectively take estrogen in a form that will give us our desired results. Cycling hormones is not going to give you any advantage over continuous hormone use and may delay feminization bucause of non-use.
