Title: A shot in the arm
Post by: xSMITHx on February 09, 2017, 09:25:18 AM
Hey guys. So I've been on T 8 years now and have only done my shots in my butt and thigh, never my arm. I'm thinking about adding my arm to the mix and would like to hear your experiences! I've got some 1" sharps as well as some 5/8".

Of course I'll chat with my doc about it but I'd like to hear from those of you who have done it. Pros / Cons?

cheers

My doctor has never listed the arm as an option for me, though I know it is done that way in some places.

When I freak out and can't do my shot then my boyfriend does it in my arm. The doctor showed him how to do it. I can definitely say I've had way less issues with bruising and soreness when I use my arm. I've tried to get the arm myself but I don't think I'm flexible enough to get the right angle. It's a much smaller target area than the thigh is. I've definitely had good results with it though! My doctor told me to just use my inch and a half needles that I use for my thigh , but I've definitely been worried they are too long. Maybe ask your doc what size they suggest.

It will make your arm sore and you will regret the soreness.
