Hi I have been on suprefact for almost 2 months now, I am wondering is it a good medication to be on does it work faster is it safer.
It shuts down testes' production of testosterone so that you are essentially castrated, just chemically instead of surgically. One will need to take some estrogen to avoid things like osteoporosis, mood deterioration (i.e. anxiety, depression), low energy. It apparently seems to be quite safe and have less side-effects than most other anti-androgens such as spironolactone and cyproterone acetate.
I recently switched to Suprefact as well and I am hoping for a better feminization. I have been on HRT for almost 3 years, 1st year was on Spiro then 2nd year was on CPA then a GNRH agonist.
Keep us posted of your progress.
Can it be had in the U.S.? I can't find it. If so, is it as ridiculously expensive as the other GNRH Antagonists?

No clue which is required for our purposes...but the reality is in my case, doesn't much matter. ;)
I believe this one and drugs like it
(GNRH) fall under the heading of unobtanium for most of us.
It really sux that TS women have so few alternatives in the U.S. for Androgen inhibition. :'(
It really looks like if you can't control androgen production here in the U.S. your only viable option is Orchi.

Estrogen, on its own, preferably by way of implants or injections, can suppress androgen effectively. In a few, even transdermal or oral estrogen can effectively lower androgen.
There is also an anti-androgen called bicalutamide (Casodex) with few side-effects and relatively safe. But, the cost can be quite high if you don't have insurance.
My endo is of the mind that if you're hirsuite, you need the AAs and without them you need dangerous levels of E for suppression. I know you're of the mind that high E or large doses aren't dangerous, but My Endo won't go for it cuz' I mentioned it to her. She's got me on Spiro and Finasteride. High doses of both. I'll be glad when I've had GCS and can dump all this stuff. ughhh!!
I'm still OK with Spironolactone, it's been around forever, it's inexpensive, and the only side effect (for me) is slightly higher potassium levels.
I figure as long as my levels of testosterone and estrogen are equivalent to a healthy cis woman, then I'm moving towards my goal.
