Title: I need opinions on this dress on my body
Post by: Luisa_2u on February 14, 2017, 01:11:13 PM
So, I'm wanting to go to university with this dress, but thing is, I don't feel right with it.
Sometimes I feel it's ok but sometimes I feel it's horrible, so what you people think about it?

This is the medium size and I'm thinking on exchanging it to large size because in the bust it feels a little tight. But I don't know how a dress should feel like... And then, my male's body makes it feels tight in the shouders. When I raise my arms, the dress go all the way up. Is it normal, or is it because it's too small for me?

Looking from the front it looks alright but from behind...

I really have a large shoulder...  :icon_sad:
So what you people think about this? Should I go for a larger size? Is it good on me or not?
I'm so anxious about it... :(

I have broad shoulders, too.  It is a dichotomy for me...I think they look manly when I wear cap sleeves or short-short sleeves, but my wife says they look like she would want hers to look.  I guess it is all about perspective.

Does that help? LOL

For me, I avoid sleeves like that.  Maybe a cardigan to go with it?

Hi Luisa,
I think it looks fine.
For me I prefer a slightly looser fitting garment for my body shape. Due to your slim shape you should enjoy wearing firmer fitting clothes.
Sometimes our thoughts on how others see us prevents us from wearing what feels good for us.
Let us know how your experience goes.
Cheers
Sue

. :(

It is normal for the dress to raise up when you raise your arms.  Be aware of that if you raise your arms above your head. It looks ok on you but breasts (anything natural that is) would be a benefit.

Try a belt to take up some of the slack. Even now you have a little figure and a belt would help show it off more.

I agree with Dena. A belt to give a bit more fit would help. You have a naturally slim waist which is an asset. One issue I see is that since it is a solid color there really is no shape to it. Size wise though it looks good. A cardigan, crop jacket, scarf at the hip line would look good, particularly in a brighter color. Accessories always help.

You would look great in a brighter tones blouse or shirt with a slim fit skirt. Something in a hip length tunic style (a bit flared at the bottom) would help balance out your shoulders a bit more. Also separate pieces help with the "am i showing more than I want to" when you raise your arms.A bit longer sleeve, more elbow length (3/4) would avoid the cut off right at the widest part of your bicep.

Ok, sorry my fashion sense got the best of me. Sorry for wandering beyond the question

Omg! thanks everyone on this!
I really had a roller coaster of emotions on this dress...
First I felt tense as it was not right in my body, then I felt sad, but then everything was perfect with this dress, and then I'm now anxious using it. So I made the decision to exchange it for a larger size. Maybe it will get too large on the waist, but I'll try something. Using a belt would not feel right (I just tried with a normal belt... lol) but maybe with a jacket on the hip would be nice. I don't like the "too masculine" look on the shoulders, so I'm going for a larger one.
About everything that patrick1967 said.. thanks very much for the insight. Being all muscular like this is a problem for me. And I didn't called for it.. Of course I did some hard works, but I always escaped from musculation on this part of my body. This is so annoying.
I need to get rid from all these muscles asap! I'm planning to start the first step on hormones next month.
