Trump Administration Rescinds Rules on Bathrooms for Transgender Students

President Trump rescinded protections for transgender students that had allowed them to use bathrooms of their gender identity, overruling his own education secretary and placing his administration firmly in the middle of the culture wars that many Republicans have tried to leave behind.

Social conservatives, one of Mr. Trump's most loyal constituencies, applauded his intention to honor a pledge he made to them during the campaign. They have argued that former President Barack Obama's policy would allow potential sexual predators access to bathrooms and create an unsafe environment for children.

That didn't take long.

I like what trump said that these issues should be left to the states,i also believe in states rights. So you want change go to your capital and state your case. One thing I do agree with that cis gender people should learn we are not freaks and that we are human also.

Leaving civil rights up to the states has worked so well historically.

[Trigger alert, I guess...]

Still can't believe how a country so full of incredible talents got someone like Trump elected president.  It's really like giving a shotgun to a 10 years-old... Sh-t waiting to happen.
It really is a regression in civilisation.
As far as I'm aware, here from afar in "waffle & pralinés"-land, in the USA there was one single case of some trans (vestite? gender?) who was taking photos in a changing box in a store... So nothing statistically significant. It's really sad for the conservative movement to make such an upheaval for a non-problem... Sometimes I feel they are not much different from islamic fundamentalists... just not islamic. But the blind fundamentalism and intolerance are the same and almost always based on supposedly "moral" and "religious" precepts.
I really hope that Trump or America wakes up. In the mean time, I wish very much strength and courage to all the trans sis & bros.

This and the bathroom bills are not about protecting anyone.  They are making up a problem to hurt trans people.

Leaving it up to the states to decide whether or not to discriminate?  Basic civil rights is not the kind of thing that gets left to the states.

Trump got elected because people for tired of liberalism, look how liberals have acted since their beloved Hillary lost. Liberals are more racist and intolerate then conservatives. I think liberals need to get out of the cities and see how rural America has been affected by liberalism it would scare the day lights out of em and give em a different perspective on how the rest of us live outside of cities.]

:police:  Topic locked. This thread has drifted away from transgender issues and toward bashing. You may not bash either political party regardless of their actions.  :police:
