Title: Surgery coming up.
Post by: snowboarderchic on February 26, 2017, 09:45:33 PM
Good evening ladies,  gents, and nonbionary folks,
I haven't posted on here in a long time. I did start coming to these boards back in 2006, but life got busy, yah know?
So I'm going to Thailand to get surgery don't this summer. I'm looking at PAI, but I'm open to recommendations to. I have been doing my research, but would like to hear some feedback from others.
Another thing I was wondering., the types,of payments they accept. I'm kinda nervous about bringing thousands of dollars over there in travelers checks. Any tips for that?
Thanks,
Mischa

I am very post surgical and am not fully up to date on the current surgeries but if you look in the Gender Correction Surgery (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,50.0.html) you will find recent reports about several of the surgeons in that area.

There's not that much posted about PAI, but here's a really good one

My wonderful surgeries SRS, BA and FFS at PAI Bangkok

Dr Suporn and Chettawut are very popular in Thailand. Suporn has an 18 month wait list, so I guess he's out (also a lot more expensive). There's plenty of posts on both of them. There's some other surgeons, but its much harder to find out anything about them.

This is about Suporn

Thank you both for your very kind replies.

My current provider is withholding my letter because she feels that I should go to montreal, which I can't afford and have explained to her. I could very easily get another doctor at the clinic to write one, which I probably will, but it's my loyalty to my current Dr. that makes me apprehensive. It's one of those things were you've known someone so long that you just want them to be happy for you. She won't even write my letter so I can get my passport with the correct gender. I've been in transition for 10 years now, and the very person that I had trusted is holding me back.

Anyhow, thanks again and I'll be sure to post on how my journey/trip unfolds.
