Hello!
So I'm about 3-months post-op now and everything has gone really well in terms of recovery. At this point I pretty much feel back to normal. I don't have much swelling anymore, dilation isn't painful, I have no soreness, and my energy level seems to be back to where it was. I was recently offered a job in Japan, I live in the US, so I'm not very close at all. I guess my question is, has anyone ever moved overseas at this stage of being post op? If you have, what was your experience like? Was it doable? I'm leaning towards not accepting the offer, but I also feel that since my recovery is good at this point would it be that bad to make the leap? My future employer offers healthcare so I know I would be covered once I settle in and obtain a doctor. The job wouldn't be physically demanding, just on my feet throughout the day, but I'm usually on my feet most of the time now. I've also been approved to bring in a years supply of medication, so I wouldn't have to worry about getting my estrogen until a year later. Anyways, I've just been juggling with all this in my head and was hoping someone else may have had this experience before. Hope to hear back!!
much love,
Alessia
One of our staff member Ayden (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=19437) has spent time in Japan. Some of his posting is in the moderator area were it's not visible but there may be enough in the public area that you can get an idea of what you will be facing. He is FTM but the problems of medical care would be pretty much the same.
