Title: Introduction
Post by: Dax on March 19, 2017, 08:52:58 AM
Hi all,

I am having a really hard time finding the words, but did not want to read all your helpful topics without an introduction, so please excuse me if this is rambly or confusing! I am Dax, a 28 year old person from the Netherlands. I've been questioning myself and my place in life a lot in recent years. More and more I've felt out of place in my own skin. I've been presenting as male for over a year now (very grateful for working in an office that is very accepting!), and am looking to take further steps now that I've finally come to accept these feelings. I am looking to get booked in with one of the gender teams here and see where we can go from there.

I won't bore you with stories of how I've struggled because I want to look forward. I want to be my own person rather than constantly get myself stuck in what is expected of me/doing the thing that everyone does.

This came out quite confusing, as you can tell, I am at the beginning of a big journey and I very much appreciate this forum for resources :)

Hey Dax! Welcome all the way from the other side of the world, don't think you can get any further away from the Netherlands than Australia. I can relate to not feeling quite right in your own skin. I've spent a huge part of my life "keeping up appearances" so to speak. Basically making others feel better, rather than me. I'm just starting my own path of exploration and enlightenment and I wish you all the best in yours!

Hi Dax ! From Oregon, USA

I am Jeanette, 64, mtf, and unofficial greeter for Susan's Place. (One of the official folks should be along shortly.)
Come on in and have a seat. Thank you for giving us some of your information. It helps us to get to know you as does letting us know the problems you are having. There are a lot of good people here to help you with your questions.

Netherlands huh? I visited  Netherlands once. I think it was Rotterdam. Drank a few beers there but that was well before you were born. I imagine things have changed there. I seem to remember bridges and brightly colored buildings with ornate workmanship. Pretty place.

Anyway it is nice to meet you and I'm glad you found us.

  Hugs,
    Jeanette
