Title: Being on estrogen and covering up on sunny days?
Post by: Mikka55 on March 20, 2017, 09:36:20 AM
When I got prescribed estrace the pharmacist told me to cover up and protect my skin on sunny days.  I forgot the reasons why is that again?  Can anyone tell me why?

Estrogen makes the skin more prone to hyperpigmentation so that you get those dark patches typically experienced by pregnant women, women taking birth control pills or HRT after menopause. I have more freckles now than ever before and I personally love it. Just under my eyes and around the cheekbones. There is a reason they call them 'beauty spots'.  ;D

I never put sunscreen on so wouldn't know. I just try to avoid too much sun exposure.
