Title: Third increase in HRT
Post by: Sarah leah on March 27, 2017, 05:30:56 AM
So for those who are aware I have been taking it VERY slow with hrt. In fact the first 2 months was the very lowest dose you can have of E and Spiro. After two months I started half the normal dose for 3 weeks, then four days ago I went to 3/4 of the E most people have.

This is very exciting as so far so good for me with the E and spiro not causing me to turn into a pineapple!! Only issues were related to spiro 3 weeks ago with cramps, which are almost not an issue right now. However, within 48 hours of starting my new patches..... the pain!!

Both of my areola's are hurting like someone punched me in the chest then gave me a evil nipple cripple  :'(

How long does it go on for? Will it be a few days, then settle followed by another few or what?

Thank you

Prepare for some sensitivity!  My nipples got super sensitive a few weeks in.  I started on a low dose for three months as well but then upped to full dose after.  Once your breasts start to bud they will get tender and perhaps achey too.  I wacked one on a doorframe last night and about died.  Sports bras=equal comfort.

Mine tend to hurt most of the time if only mildly...banging into the car door today didn't help. As long as they are painful and sensitive, my understanding is that they are growing...so you grow girl you grow!!!

When I first started Estrogen, I wasn't ready for it. I was driving along, not a care in the world, but suddenly I thought somebody had set fire to my nipples! They've been tender ever since.

Sent with fondest thoughts

At just short of 4 months mine are just a bit tender when pressed but hardly noticeable otherwise. Except for in the mornings. I've been waking sleeping on my back and not they cause a sharp pain for a few minutes when I sit up or roll onto my side. A few minutes of Ouch! and it is fine again.

I am not that long into it yet but I did notice that it takes me between 4 and 5 weeks to adjust to any dosage change. The biggest issue for me is being fatigue and tired. When I started it did go away after about 5 weeks and I finally had the energy I was hoping for. Then after week 6 my dosage was increased by half for E and doubled for spiro. I am at the end of week 4 and I notice Energy slowly coming back.

Really hope my next blood test is good, not sure I could take another dosage increase.

As for breasts: I do have the expected soreness of nipples and touch sensitivity which I just believe is normal while they are growing. I kind of expect this to be the case for the first year but I am not sure. Most days it is OK and wearing a sports bra or some other protection helps.

Good luck

Hugs
