As some of you may know I've been doing some acting on the side. Nothing major (yet) but this one I'm excited to share as it could turn huge. This was filmed last August at Coney Island and I couldn't talk about it until it was released. The screening my wife and I attended was this past weekend and this Trailer Concept was the highlight at the end and had a great response and the site was just launched tonight. The part I play is a Homeless Gypsy Soothsayer. They were looking for a tall cis woman to play the and I auditioned for it and got the part.
It's called "Meth Crabs" and it's described as: ( https://www.methcrabs.com/ )
QuoteInspired by the sounds and STYLES of 1950's Beach Party movies the SUSPENSE and FOREBODING nature of Hitchcock's the Birds and the ZANY action of Tim Burton's Mars Attacks!
And I would have to say they pretty much sums it up!!!
Do check out the site, but here is the video (warning, there is some gore, PG-13 style, in it, but you can't take it seriously):

The director and producer both want me in the movie itself if it gets funding as it is an Indy Film.
Giggle!

Hi Sydney,
Well I must say they did a good job making you look the part and you did it well. I would certainly be unnerved with you coming at me like that. I hope it gets funded so you can continue with the part.
I do prefer how you appear in your avatar much more though.
Hugs,
Jeanette

Thank you :) I prefer my avatar look too. It was a lot of fun to do. They used latex on my lips to make them looked chapped and makeup to make it look like I was living in the streets. The jacket was stained with coffee to make it look dirty, so I smelled like coffee on the way home after the shoot on the subway. (I did change back into normal clothes and sans makeup/latex before going on the Subway, LOL.)
It was also filmed on a Sunday at the beach in August at dusk and there was a crowd of people watching from behind the camera since it was filmed on the boardwalk at Coney Island which can get very crowded.
Love it! Congrats, Sydney. That is just awesome!!
Congrats, Sydney! Hope the project gets picked up!
Didn't realize you had the thespian bug, Sydney.
That is SO cute, and you were great!
I hope they get the funding for the movie, and I signed up for the free T-shirt.
My daughter has been in local Indie films and is helping one of her old college friends with one right now.
I was an extra in both Seabiscuit and Secretariat, since some major scenes were filmed at Keeneland racetrack, in Lexington, KY, where I was living at the time. I think being in movies is a lot of fun.
Oh, yeah, I was an actor in the English version of a hit Thai pop music video last year also, to the delight of my Thai students.
I appear in the video at 3:44 seconds in, as the mother of Tom (his name really is Tom), the protagonist in the video; the woman sweeping, wearing an orange top.

In high school and college I was behind the scenes in theater doing lights and sound and also television production. Now after transitioning I like being in front of the camera :)
