Title: BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of colour) Everyone Is welcome.
Post by: Mikka55 on March 29, 2017, 09:19:36 PM
I want to start a thread for black, indigenous, and people of color thread here.  Other folks are welcome to join in too. Here we can share stories on how folks with different ethnic backgrounds came out to their family,  friends,  loved ones,  co worker etc....
I will start.  Hi,  I am Mikka.  I am Chinese.  I came out to my friends a few weeks ago.   I got a mixed reaction from different people.  I found out people who have relatives or friends that are Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Trans/Queer are more easily accepted.  Family member wise I came out to my cousin first.   Why her first because growing up she was always a tomboy and she came out to me that she was a lesbian a long time ago,  so if anyone can relate its her.   But she understands my situation fully because she feels the same.
Next is my brother....He wasn't clear at first.  So I told him it was something I always wanted.  So I explained gender and sex to him.
My mother on the other hand being old school Chinese she is not taking it easy.  She is having a rough time. I told her honestly its who I am its what I always wanted,  I love who I am now and I love my hormones.  Then she said.... how can I explain to people... I said sorry,  I don't know. She asked if I would stop hormones and just crossdress.   I told her... me being a women will always be in my mind.   Then she said I thought you were attracted to girls.  I said yeah.. but that's just my sexual preference,  it has nothing todo with gender and how I feel.  It was really hard coming out to my mom.  I still haven't told my dad yet.
But I have to be strong.
