Title: Can I bind after having breast augmentation until I begin living f-t?
Post by: Carri F on April 03, 2017, 03:26:02 PM
I'm not going to be able to transition f-t for a few months.  If I do so beforehand, I'll need to hide my breasts.  (Feels good writing "my" breasts).  :)   I can take the time to heal for a week, maybe even two, but I'll need to work as a guy (boooo!) for a few months.  Anyone that could provide any experience, knowledge, etc. would be greatly appreciated.  I'd like to get the surgery done before I start a new job because I won't be able to take time off for some time after starting the new job.  Thanks!

I don't think that would be a good idea considering implants can rupture, also you don't want to risk them moving around in your chests and causing permanent uniboob.

Lol @ "permanent uniboob".  Is that a thing?  Regardless, sounded hilarious.....well, not for the woman that has it :)

It may take months to fully heal from the surgery and during that time you should be wearing a proper support garment. Binding could result in the implants shifting with undesirable results. You should either delay your surgery or plan on coming out because a binder is not a solution.

I have 500cc silicone implants, and while they are soft, and somewhat squishy from the sides, there would be no way to bind them down so they aren't noticeable. And as mentioned, you could cause some complications by not letting them heal properly. Your plastic surgeon will give you post op instructions, so you may want to bring it up with him or her before you have the surgery.

If you can't come out early, consider wearing breast forms when you transition, sized about how you'll look after augmentation.  Then you can have the surgery later when it's convenient, and your appearance won't change.

I'll be honest. That sounds like it's going to lead to horrific results, if you're not developed yet in any shape of form. I don't think it would be healthy, and no sane doctor should that. That's like women who inject cement into their buttocks trying to look like Nicki Minaj, but end up in a monstrous results....

You need a foundation to build a house. (I am assuming you're not on hormones, no breast development, because you said you can't transition for a few months; which is different from going full time in my opinion).

What if it flips on you because there is nothing to keep it there... It sounds like that implant can rotate and move because there's no fatty tissue to grab of hold of it. What if you slept rough toss and turn, and push that implant down the side of your rib cage....

No! Don't do it!

Not to question motives nor expression, but I am curious of the thought processes of getting BA before starting any type of hormone therapy.  Current standards suggest two to three years on hrt before attempting BA.  It seems to me that any surgeon who would do this is unethical at best and criminal at the worse.  I would seriously reconsider any decision on this topic.

I'm thinking of having breast augmentation
But the problem is I have to go cross some countries who is transphobic
My passport will be still male in that time And I don't need troubles in the airport

Can I hide them by blinding them until I arrive to my destination
Or it will cause trouble ?

Yes, binding over a newly implanted breast prosthesis is VERY BAD for proper healing. Some surgeons use a binder above the breasts post op for a few weeks, but never directly over the breasts. Once healing is complete in about 4 months or so, you can use a sports bra or no bra to partially hide you new breasts. If you really need to hide your new breasts, then the best option is loose clothing and just do not walk or stand completely upright.

Breast augmentation is one of the last things done on our transition list. Counselling, hormone therapy and electrolysis are the first priority. Depending on the country you live in, you may be able to change your identification papers before surgery, then travel will not be a problem.

That is not an option unfortunately (even after srs they don't change it )

I guess then I will have to wait to be in safe place first
